Another great thing about the balloon is you can get some small glow sticks and throw a few in the balloon then blow it up. Great for night float fishing. So much fun and looks cool when you have them spread out.

Shallow is a different game. The challenge can be keeping a river rig out of a snag while still trying to reel. I love it myself ...that extra skill it takes get a big one in and in a few feet of water and night is special. It's seems like the odds are with the fish most times.

I can't wait to see what kind of different species you might catch. My fiance said she is tired of catching Channel Catfish & Drum. Fingers crossed 🤞 that she catches something cool. I walked out of a garage sale today, spending $120 for a lot of wood & vintage lures, a new Catfish combo & 2 spinning reels.

Sir I love seeing all the ways that you fish for catfish. I never knew that they're were so many awesome way to fish for them but thanks to you and you taking time out to show them to us I want to tell you thanks and I appreciate it. I like how you start your videos off cause most of the time you're telling us how your fishing that day like what rigs, what kind of baits, and how many rods your using and that is some important information for sure well atleast to me it is. And I'm like you I never thought them stinger hooks was going to catch as many catfish as they have I mean I had the same thought as you maybe catch bass, striper, and other fish like that but I'm glad you gave them a try and I'm sure you have made a believer out of alot of us that watch your channel. Just go to show it never hurts to try new things lol. Hope you get feeling better and thanks for all you do for us and all you go through making your awesome videos for us all to enjoy and learn from. Well till next's time GodBless and Tight Lines.

I use the same rig without a stinger for big largemouth bass. A probably 3-4in perch, 4ot hook, and since balloons hold up lots of weight I'll use a 1-2oz weight. I basically take my catfish Carolina rig and just tie on a balloon.

If you use water balloons, they'll pop when they get yanked under the surface and there's no resistance when reeling in the fish. We do it all the time when fishing for pike, worth a try man.

Unless it is common. You have caught that fish again with the double whisker. I saw one with a double whisker in your vids late 2021-2022. Much bigger this time. ;D Also running the stingers and the shallows, I would increase my speed to create more action with the cut bait and stingers. From my experience movement in the shallows creates strikes more often.

The only thing I have against the stinger flies is that you have to keep you bait 6 to 8 inches shallower than you normally would have to. Due to the stinger flies hanging lower than the normal hook and bait. So the bait isn't as close to the bottom as it normally would be which may let a fish miss the bait because it's a little to far off the bottom.

I can't wait to give this a try I have been missing some fish don't know weather its far or short bite catfish but I have had some really great take downs on skip jack and blue gills too and I don't know how they are not getting the hook I'm using 8/0 and 10 / 0 circle hooks no scales on hook point and I bent the point of hook out just a tad like some other catfushet men said to like Michael Douglas! What am I doing wrong ?

The stinger hooks are 5/0 size. You may just have fish biting the edge of the bait and not getting the hook. I have fought fish all the way to the kayak and watched them just let go of the side of the bait. Could be gar hitting your baits too.

Another reasons to use balloons over floats in your case is being able to switch back and forth from float to no float without having to re-rig your gear on the fly in the kayak.
