Shakin' Sammy Hagar at Eddie Money Tribute Saban Theater 2/20/2020 Beverly Hills

Shakin' Sammy Hagar at Eddie Money Tribute Saban Theater 2/20/2020 Beverly Hills
A STAR STUDDED TRIBUTE TO EDDIE MONEY (March 21, 1949 - September 13, 2019)
Tonight Eddie’s family and friends gather to pay tribute to a life well-lived and a talent unsurpassed. Sammy Hagar, James Hetfield, George Thorogood & Waddy Wachtel, John Waite, Mickey Thomas, Kevin Cronin & Dave Amato of REO Speedwagon, Greg Kihn and Tommy Tutone are among the evening’s featured performers.
To Benefit MusiCares & The USC Eddie Money Cancer Research Fund.
Such regrets I never saw Eddie Money live. Would have been a great show for sure.

Sammy looks good for 72, but he also sounds 72. I’ve seen many recent performances (video nothing live since 90s), and he usually sounds way more polished. He looks like he’s been drinking his own medicine since 4:00, by which I mean tequila:-). Contrast that to my recent McCartney shows since we’re talking Beatles, and no comparison, Paul blew my mind, especially the show 5y ago. Regardless, it’s great to see Sammy doing an Eddie Money tune, two Bay Area favorites. I remember a Bammies award show where Sammy presented Eddie some best record or best production for Can’t Hold Back ( Bammies were the SF Bay Area Music Awards, like Grammies, only different).

Always loved this song. I still have a VHS concert video of Eddie, from the late 90’s, doing this song live. I also saw him on tour. When they got to the guitar solo/bridge, his wife came strutting out in a short tight dress. Definitely got all the guy’s attention including mine. Haha. Eddie also introduced his kids, who were in costumes, at the end of it. They were all still pretty tiny. Nice to see them still performing his music & carrying on his legacy.
