Shakespeare SP 400 trash can spin fishing reel how to take apart and service

Спорт

This is one of three reels that were brought to me having been rescued from the trash. See how to take this apart and clean and service this reel and allow it a second chance

Nice! You really can’t go wrong with reels in that category when used the way they were meant to be used.

I agree. Most reels will always do what you bought them to do. The problem is when your expectations or fishing conditions change. The Shakespeare line up is a very strong entry level product in the value price range

Another gem from Pure Fishing! I use my air compressor in my driveway to get rid of sand. I’m learning more about the history of Pure Fishing and though I’m softening my attitude a little I still don’t like how they have swallowed so many once great fishing reel brands. This Shakespeare is a decent design and good for a beginner. I got my 4th Mitchell 302N for an extraordinary price earlier today. Now I have just as many 302N reels as the earlier 302 reels. You can never have too many French Mitchells! This Shakespeare cleaned up nicely. I’m looking forward to your video on that seized Penn 704Z. That should be interesting. I’m also still working on restoring a Zebco Cardinal 6 saltwater reel. It is taking more work and parts than I ever expected but I’m determined to get it perfect. I do not intend to ever get another one however!

I guess the other side of the coin is that the brands they have would be gone entirely if it weren't for them. Think Silstar, Pinnacle, Ocean City et. al. There are some new entrants into the market that are making things interesting. Competition never hurt anyone! I does look like you will never have enough Mitchells! Be well Dennis

@@2ndChanceTackle what are some of those brands! The Abu Garcia video brought up Pure Fishing. That alone has made me soften my attitude. Of the spinning reels that are made now I like the Peerless Bam reels still made in France. They are much like the old brands I love in that they are still made to last a long time. I wish more of their reels were available here in the USA.
