Shakespeare in Love | 'No Juliet' (HD) - Gwyneth Paltrow, Joseph Fiennes | MIRAMAX

Фильм және анимация

It's show time, but when the young man playing Juliet (Daniel Brocklebank) experiences some unexpected changes, it's going to take a miracle-or Thomas Kent (Gwyneth Paltrow)-to save the day.
In this scene: Will Shakespeare (Joseph Fiennes), Viola De Lesseps (Gwyneth Paltrow), Philip Henslowe (Geoffrey Rush), Lord Wessex (Colin Firth)
About Shakespeare in Love:
Young Will Shakespeare is the up and coming playwright of the time, but has been disastrously struck by the bane of the writer's life - writer's block. His comedy "Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate's Daughter" isn't going anywhere and the playhouse is under threat of closure. What Will needs is a muse, and she appears in the form of the beautiful and bethrothed Lady Viola. The path of true love does not run smooth for Will, but the joys and tragedy of his own life find their way onto the page in a moving, witty and spellbinding tale.
Starring, in alphabetical order: Ben Affleck, Judi Dench, Joseph Fiennes, Colin Firth, Gwyneth Paltrow, Geoffrey Rush, Tom Wilkinson

"Every word!" I have seen the movie a dozen times and I get excited every time Viola utters that magnificent line. Gwyneth was marvelous in this movie and anyone who loved the movie and Gwyneth's performance as much as I did, continue to enjoy the movie for years to come. It is a treasure.

It was just pretty obvious to the audience that she was a woman. Because Viola is the daughter of a wealthy merchant, some of them probably know who she is.

Damn I love this scene. Hell, I love the entire Romeo and Juliet sequence from the climax of this film, but I think my favourite part is how quickly Henslowe and Burbage decide to let Viola play Juliet as soon as they realise it's the only way they're going to get the play through to completion with Sam unable to play Juliet. Putting a woman onstage is a criminal act which already got them into trouble once already when they weren't even aware of it and it wasn't even in public, but *the show MUST go on.* "We'll all be put in the clink." "See you in jail."

Brilliant movie, excellent writing, plot, acting and music. Would be unfair to relate the artists to the acts of the producer. Saving private Ryan is a great movie also, but not as different/unique as this movie. Interestingly enough the apothecary who is also the money of the play is told to stay quiet and listen at some point.

Yes. Six men enter the Rose on audition day, headed by Ned Alleyn. Fennyman (the Money) says, "Who is this?" and Alleyn slaps him aside with his sword, roaring, "Silence, you dog! I am Hieronimo! I am Tamburlaine! I am Faustus! I am Barrabas, the Jew of Malta--oh yes, Master Will, and I am Henry VI. What is the play, and what is my part?" Fennyman says, "A moment, sir!" Alleyn roars, "Who are you?" Fennyman (bleating) "I am the money!" Alleyn "Then you may remain so long as you remain silent. Pay attention and you will see how genius creates a legend." Fennyman (respectfully) "Thank you, sir." This is according to the screen play, which the movie follows pretty closely but not word for word.

Wth is Gwyneth doing with those weird head / neck movements @ 2:44 & 3:00 timestamps?? . Also, does anyone else think (Will's actor, whose name I forget)'s neck looks absurdly long @ 2:52 mark? I think it's the lighting falling as a column on only on his face, middle of his throat and upper chest (but not on the sides of his neck or shoulders) that make it look twice as long as normal.
