@@elaineewalt8137 SIMPLE !!! 🤷🏻‍♀️ !! Because people “OF COLOR” (whether black or brown) historically (AND STILL) would NEVER be welcome in an all white establishment - including a dance hall. That’s a fact, so let us stop PRETENDING that it isn’t. If you’re white and don’t like hearing it ....tough. But don’t expect people of color to subserviently pretend it DOESN’T exist JUST to please you! On the FLIP side of this societal norm, people of color have always welcomed whites into their establishments and EVERYONE knows this. I’m Puerto Rican born and raised in NYC and proud of it! That's what I heard . 2022 people don't go dancing like they did in the 70's and 80's . Pity . It used to be so much fun . And it didn't cost a lot to go . Drinks were expensive . But I didn't drink so I just sipped on a pop all night . Maybe nightclub dancing will come back into vogue again .

Mary Pendergrass thanks for the response... 8 count is really busy... Maybe I'm just on another rhythm. Maybe I missed the train. But y'all keep on and enjoy the ride! There was a couple teaching Chicago Style dancing at the recreation center here where we live and if I can hook up with them, me and my wife might take some lessons... Very inspiring...

I learned to step with grace, passion, fluidity, and improvisation on The Best Side-The West Side! I am trying to teach it to people in D-Town. There are Chicago steppers and instructors in Dallas. Her is something to consider if you have never stepped before and want to learn: do not imitate your lead's moves, integrate your flow with his lead 2) mimicking your lead's moves will only frustrate the beginner 3) stepping is not like doing the bump, the jerk, the Philly or any of those dances that required mimicking. You feel Stepping with the music, your creativity, and your lead.
