Dinesh and I studies in the same class in Sacred Heart Boys High School & His older brother Manoj was in the same class as my older brother. Shailendra, his father has touch the hearts of our whole family as ours were a family of singers. I am so thankful to Dinesh for this interview. I listened to this podcast with tears in my eyes! Sometimes I feel so lucky that we had giants like Shailendra, Shanker Jaikishan & many more, who made my life so good in my childhood and even now!

Sudhir Nairji, aapko mere hardik pranam. I don't know how many times and how many different You Tube videos I have seen on Shailendraji and still I look for something more about him and his family. My heart got filled with tremendous happiness to know that you and your elder brother shared the same school and classes as Dineshji and his brother Manojji. It was 1966 when I read in a Gujarati Newspaper about Shailendraji 's tragic death ( I was only 14 years old than) my teenager heart felt unknown sadness . Today I am approaching my 70th birthday., but my love for my favourite poet has remained the same. God bless you all who have seen these great people together.

What a wonderful interview.... I stayed very close to Shailendra ji' s as well as SD Burman's ( THE JET) house in Khar but never had opportunity to meet him. I was in school, too young to gate crash & meet him but we always used to discuss about his songs. Now, we realize what a golden period of Hindi film music we lived thru'. It's a beautiful interview, a collector's item Thanks a million.

Wahan Kaun Hai Tera, Musafir, Jaayega Kahan. After this 👆, no discussion can even be contemplated as to who WAS / IS / SHALL continue to be Considered as the BEST LYRICIST EVER to Grace the Hindi Film Industry.

This boy is very sober humble and intelligent. He looks intellectually very matured and talks in measured tone. Interviewer miserably failed to give opportunity to the boy to come out with facts of his father's life.

Wah kya dhamdaar gaane ek bar nahi bar bar bar suno and happy raho and Corona or OMICRON bhagao immediately and permanently.

Shailendra was indeed a rare genius!

The world Shailendra combines two opposites like a rock ( Shiva ) and Indra ( scaler ruler king of believed to be swarga or haven who is surrounded by all great saints and APSARA'S but cannot do anything physical or vector kind is a great unification of detachment and SIMULTANEOUS attachment makes someone totally selfless SERVING and beyond any quation equation kind does pose a question on the philosophy of every thing is matter as proposed by science PERHAPS and thanks. This poet is great and worth appeares to be appreciating even now in general and for the sufferers particularly which are in plenty here even now and thanks.So this person or poet appears to be true to his name assigned by parents in a namakaran ( not namkeen please )FUNCTIONS seldom become like that and thanks.

Pl keep posting regularly. You seem to be realistic and reliable.

Always live and die in music spiritual meditation and non-corrupt life only till death.

शैलेंद्र जी के गीतों की वजह से हम उन्हे दिल में बसाए है। हमने वो किस जाति के है जानने की जरूरत नहीं समझी। लेकिन आप जैसे जातिवादी लोग हैं जो बताते हैं कि वो चमार थे, चमार तो संत रैदास भी थे जिन्हे हम जैसे बहुत आदर देते है। जातिवाद से ऊपर उठें। जय हिन्द।

हर जोर जुलुम के टक्कर में संघर्ष हमारा नारा है शैलेन्द्र जी ने यह नारा दिया

While narrating the story about the the Rangoli song Chotisi Yeh Duniya, Dineshji has said that music director Shankar could not read ... implying that he was illiterate. As per the information on internet it looks like he was educated up to the 10th standard. If true I am puzzled why he could not read. Will somebody preferably Dineshji explain?
