but the soul sword only kill downworlders, not shadowhunters. i understand why magnus would be pissed though. plus didn't alec said to robert that he won't keep the secret, either trust him as a leader or not? doesn't alec trust magnus as a leader? i guess alec still have some shadowhunter superiority complex that he has to work on. malec afterall is still work in progress.

virtualreality6543 I think Alec is scared if he tells the Downworlders about the soul sword it would jeopardize their union. Like the Clave is lying about having it, and if they find out it would make the Downworlders lose the remaining trust in them and turn against the Clave/Shadowhunters. I don't think Alec thinks Shadowhunters are superior to Downworlders, it was obvious in that chipping episode.

the whole soul-sword problem is quite complex but what gets my vote is whether or not Alec planned on telling Magnus or any of the other Downworld leaders EVER. It's one thing to take things into consideration before dealing with such vital information, it's another to spout and demand total transparency while hiding such large secrets. Did Magnus blow up prematurely? Maybe. Was he justified in his anger? Totally. This kind of boils back to the belief that the Clave is the almighty police of the Shadowworld who has to 'protect' the Downworlders from each other and Demons and Valentine. This whole idea of 'let the me decide what's best for you'; Magnus brought up the point that Alec should've trusted him to keep it a secret not just because of their relationship, but because Magnus would know that's the right thing to do. The Seelie Queen was right in the sense that the Downworld ought to protect and fight for themselves for a change, especially to be treated and seen as equals in the Shadowworld. A lot of leaders use the 'don't spread panic' as a reasonable justification but if something is threatening my family, i'd want to know.

Is it possible to love this cast more than I do already
