Of all the shadow pokemon I have captured (400+), only two have been 3 stars, the rest were either 0 or 1 star. Most players I know ignore them until it is time for Giovanni.

It may be worth once the Mewtwo Megas roll out. Mega Mewtwo X is Pshychic/Fighting type so it can hit harder and get better coverage

Never had a problem with Giovanni. It's always one of the leaders, that is heavy, like currently Aerodactyl on Cliff, and a while ago Lapras on Sierra.

Like I use pokegenie and was wondering if I should include the gym offense/defense letter ratings for Pokémon I was would in pvp

I have a quick question. In PvP, do shadow pokemon have an attack type bonus applied to their attacks? For example if I have a water shadow pokemon, do the water attacks deal water and shadow type damage?

Purifying them before transferring is only useful if you're farming the Purifier badge. The primary reason to farm this badge is simply to get more white balls when catching shadow pokemon. It's fairly negligible. Not worth the investment of candy and stardust.

Hypothetically speaking, if I have a 93% shadow chikorita, should I purify it? That would bring him up to 100% IV. But at the same time, he’s a shadow, so do I go against what I think and keep him as is?

froslass is good for great league. Glalie might have a mega in the future. current froslass is more useful

It depends on the Pokémon and your style of play. For instance, Shadow Sableye is better in PvP because it does better with the purified move “Struggle.” Most of the time, raids are usually the best way to utilize shadow mons also if it’s a a 13/13/13 Shadow pokémon that is Meta, don’t purify it as it makes it a lot weaker

I purified many Pokemon, couse i cant play as much and will never get enoough stardust and candies to upgrade all my good shadow-pokemon to a useful level. So i rather take a high WP- and better IV-Pokemon i can use to get my game going (Raids, team Rocket leaders, etc.)... but thx for the good explanation. Have to change some things and will never purify a mewtew, when i get one now :)

you can only change it on specific days such as events. Niantic will tell you when you can

So I have looming in the shadows task but not inter eggs sting development task does that mean I can’t get shadow new two anymore or is it just a different legendary shadow Pokémon every month and you just need a super rocket radar

At what point in terms of IV do you keep a shadow pokemon. Do you transfer 0*,1* and 2* like regular pokemon or do you keep 2*.

Or do you keep even the 0 IV? If a pokemon has att stat of 100. Hundo has 115. Shadow has 120. Shadow hundo has either 138 or 135, not sure how the math works. Either way a shadow has more att than any non-shadow version of that pokemon.

When should you purify a shadow pokemon? There is a research goal to purify 5 shadow pokemon this year. (March 2024) How do I know which ones I purify?

With weather boost and purification the odds of a hundo: 1/101.63. And without weather boost: 1/151.7

So I have a Dragonair that’s just normal and it’s a cp of like 700 and then I have a shadow dratini which is only like 200 do I try get a shadow dragonite or get a regular dragonite ?

I would still keep it and if you can't find a stronger one it is still really good. Remeber a shadow for raids is always stronger then regular form no matter the ivs

Do purified pokemon get a 10% attack bonus and a 10% defense reduction? I've heard that before but don't know if it's true...

Just started playing this game a month ago and it looks like everything changed a lot. During this video grunts are the useless rockets, now it looks like they are the good rockets. I'm getting snorlax, dratini, and starter pokemon from grunts, while the leaders are giving me cubones, executes, and drowsees LOL

I always wondered...it's possible to get the rockets grunts 1st & 2nd pokemon...but can u get their 3rd?? If so how??🤔🤷🏼‍♂️

Shadow Pokémon are usually better than there perfect counterparts like a perfect mewtwo is usually outclass by a shadow 0* or 1* mewtwo

From the seems of things the shadow Snorlax may be better in some scenarios but if you’re looking for a 100% and care more for that then there’s no harm in purifying
