Bro their new drummer, Bryce, is a beast. He is also a drum instructor, and the "pain face" is also the pleasure face 😅. Seriously, the dude LOVES what he does. I’ve already watched that video so many damn times and it makes me so happy. He’s gotta be the happiest drummer in metal.

You nailed it with Alex - Ben comparison here. The thing is, appearance is helping Alex who looks like a Russian mafia assassin, while Ben looks more like a high school kid 😂. That being said, Ben is the best growler in metal music, period.

Shadow Of Intent is just transforming into a pure Death Metal band and I love it.

Melancholy might still be my most listened to album in 2021, so I cannot blame you. It simply is a masterpiece. And so is the new single for me.

2 way tie between Melancholy and immortal for me both game changing albums....and i return to nothingness is just an EP so its not in the list calm down people

I still listen to melancholy once a week. I will never get tired of it. Maaterpiece

They are now a death metal band.

Ben Duerr’s a special talent for sure, don’t feel bad for your analysis cause it’s dead on lol. Funny enough, you want more Shadow of Intent and they just released a cover of Lamb of God’s “Laid to Rest”, but it’s just a visualizer. Hopefully an album comes soon man, I need more of these guys too.

This song is just another masterpiece. It's not only the music, it's the intensity, the build-ups, the symphonic elements, his insane vocals. God I'm such a fangirl😆 I can not wait to see these guys live🙌

Still looking forward to a gear breakdown for Archspire - Golden Mouth of Ruin. It's a full music video too, so plenty of gear to check out.

I love how effortlessly Ben becomes Shagrath with his blackened vocals. The whole album is unbelievable. My favorite track is The Coming Fire.

Wasn't the biggest fan of Shadow of Intent, but this song is one of my favourite singles of '21 haha. Loving the riffs and grooves. Edit; since you were talking about the drummer, there is a drum play-through on KZread. And the drummer has the biggest grin on his face the whole way through, it's hilarious haha! Check it out!

Some deathcore is nice from time to time. In my opinion, Ben is the best vocalist in the genre, perfect breath control, low pitch, accents. Again, I recommend the newest singles by Rivers of Nihil and Aviana. They are smaller bands, worthy of bigger recognition. Greetings from Poland

Yesss, finally. Been waiting for this one. Shadow of Intent have grown on me since i first heard them in 2019. One of the best bands i’ve ever heard. I have been listening to metal, mostly death and black, for a long time (since mid 90’s) and i must say, Ben’s voice is one of the best i have ever heard. He keeps getting better and better. I also love with Soi how they work as a band, as one unit. And they are so damn good! I also agree to the point you made when comparing Ben with Alex. I think Ben’s voice are more matured. He master his proffession! Song keeps growing, read somwhere that this song and lyrics touch the darkest corners of humanity. ”The blade unjust, lost control. Into the furnace, into the hole!” And also, as a treat for you Tank, they just released a new video. A cover on Lamb of Gods Laid to Rest. Please do a review on that one aswell!! It’s super nice! Don’t worry man I am in the same boat of not finding out about this song till weeks after it released. Kardavox had a video on it and I was like hey I never heard that song before and looked into it then went to your channel to see if I just missed you doing a video. So I figured you would be doing one haha. Melancholy was my introduction to these guys too and quickly made them become one of my favorite bands last year. Under a Sullen Moon was the song I heard first and it was wonderful. I have your same feelings on this song. Much heavier death metal feel to it. Can’t wait for their next album.

I don't want to jinx anything but I think these guys are too talented to miss on an album. I also think they've grown and improved on each album. This song was much more heavy death metal oriented kind of like in the vein of Nile or Deicide or bands like them..but still had that blackened symphonic sound that Shadow of Intent brings. The only thing is it leaves me wanting more haha.

I hear that low-key Lorna in the background! Sounds like my crib the past few weeks Also, SoI kicks ass. This song is incredible.

Seems like you fell for this song as much as I did! It's a twist in the death metal part of symphonic deathcore in Shadow of Intent, as "Melancholy" is a more black metal part. Love your videos and reactions, man.

Awesome reaction. This song was super cool. I've only heard the other songs you and Chase reacted to from them and enjoyed them but didn't love them especially when in that one song they do a super long breakdown with like 6 different vocal styles in it. This song on the other hand was awesome. Also, it seems like this song is airing on the side of symphonic death metal, like Fleshgod Apocalypse, as apposed to a song like The Heretic Prevails, which sound to me more like Dimmu Borgir style symphonic black metal. Either way it did make me want to check out more. On a side note, since Leprous' new album wasn't available to listen to on KZread I finally got around to listening to Lost Souls by Caskets and you were right. That album is amazing. It sounds like if you mixed Architects with OneRepublic and that's awesome since I love both of those bands.

I was literally about to start typing about the bands he was involved in xD But one you missed was Hunt the Dinosaur, another band with insane fast breakdowns. Also and update, Bryce is now OFFICIALLY a Meinl Artist!

I totally agree with thr Ben and Alex comparison. For me slaughter to prevail is very talented but they totally go for thr shock value and their stuff wears off its luster for me after a few listens. Shadow of Intent are in a league of their own

A side project that Ben started Hollow Prophet is a super group consisting of course Ben, Jack SImmons of Slaughter to Prevail/Acrania, and Austin Archey of Lorna Shore(Lukka Vezzosi was formerly the drummer) Two songs that stick out that show off Ben's vocal prowess would be Infernal Cleansing OR ScumProphet ft Dickie Allen. Also, if you haven't checked out Acrania, I would highly suggest it as Luke Griffin is one of the most underrated vocalists in the game. The song Exterminate the Liberated is damn good!

No way! You're objectively right about the vocals trolol XD. But in all honestly, I completely agree 100%, and my hot-take comparison would be Lorna Shore. No shade to Lorna, they're excellent at what they do, and Will is outstanding. But to me personally, Ben is on another level. His skill with his voice and his capacity to articulate and enunciate impresses me on the same level that the instrumentalist's skill at their instruments impresses me.

Dude can you please do dyscarnate!! They have been around for years and are an amazing British death metal band. Promethian is my favorite song also "nothing left thats right" Do it tank!!

Not my usual thing... still enjoyed the hell out of this. The music just scratched an itch.

Btw what you said about Ben and Alex. I have the same feeling. And I am fan of both these bands. But the feeling is mutual. The things Alex can do with his voice, are really impressive. But Ben is indeed more perfection 👌and they're both still pretty young. Amagine what they can do with their voices in an other 10 years.
