We're at the point in metal where more and more bands are multi-blending sounds within the genre and going outside of what people expect from them, so I can definitely see a lot of surprises on this one.

its not as bad as most deathcore for sure, it was unethical not to say "FEATURING THE Guy From FleshGod" - it is SO MUCH a part of the music, he really is another member of the band, and a primary one at that

We are at the point that when people say "metal is thru" I just show them this, or Enslaved, Black Crown Initiate, Ihsahn, Leprous and just shut them up.
I absolutely love this album. Thanks for the review, Riley! It's actually guitarist Chris Wiseman who does the clean vocals btw 😊
Man. I avoided deathcore for so long but the tail end of 2021 and beginning of 2022 have brought me into a whole new world. This album was so goooooood too

@@rookshaw4974 Go listen to primordial and reclaimer and compare it to elegy and to some degree melancholy, you will see the difference. Not splitting hairs. Again, I'm not critiqueing their change, I'm just saying that the change isn't exactly subtle.
"The song has such and intense buildup and it gets so strong so fast that it takes the atmosphere and just like buttfucks it into the void." Poetry
Keyboards were apparently performed by Francesco Ferrini of Fleshgod Apocalypse and Christ on a bike, he done such a wonderful fucking job.

Riley it's such a pleasure to listen to your reviews. You have precision, passion, personality and verbal colors. Thank you for your radiating energy
Ayyyy it's that Shadow of Intent album review that I was sad didn't come out. But here it is.
I like how that band brings all the generations together. Old school death metal fans, deathcore fans, kids... Everyone loves Shadow of Intent and that's great! 😂
We need to see more of Riley doing reviews...Excellent album BTW :)
Album aside, Riley has improved a lot in her review style! Not that she was bad before, but her style is even more well thought out and articulate. Keep up the good work!
Love you, Riley! Thank you for your excellent review. Haven't listened to much of these guys, but this seems like a pretty kick-ass album.
Great that you gave a shout out to Aethereus (and AE for that matter). They outdid themselves on this one. Great album end to end!! 🤘🤘
Love this channel. Thanks for the Aethereus shoutout!
Thanks for the heads up. I am very interested in checking this band out!
Yes! Thank you! I was gonna request this album!
Great job Riley. Love this album.
Good picks as usual from Riley on the shout outs. Vaino and Vehemence.
I love the new Shadow of Intent album , it’s definitely one of the best new releases so far 🔥 Thank you for the Awesome review 🙏 Hail from Long Island New York 🤘🤘
Not my thing, but I always watch and appreciate any review. Bryce has always seemed like a cool guy. I've been meaning to check out that Vaino album, too. I'll do it now, I guess. :) Thanks for the review, Riley!
Just when I thought I was up to date with what's new in metal, Riley drops so many band names I've never heard of...and probably will never hear again XD. Great review, insightful and cool as always.
Ever since Ulcerate was your album of the year in 2020 I’ve been a fan, definitely gonna check this one out.
This band just keeps on evolving every album, its fun to watch! Riley another killer album review, would be rad to see Banger put out more reviews from you. Also I love you. But I'm pretty sure its their guitarist Chris who does the cleans. 🙃
I agree with the length of the album. I can only listen to death metal for about 8 hours per day and I need to fit in all of the great albums.
Great review, will def check this one out
I enjoyed deathcore back in the day but have been completely engulfed by black metal for a couple years now. Deathcore + symphonic maybe what pulls me back. Shadow of intent and Brand of sacrifice seem to be calling me 🤘🏽

Awesome video! Never heard of these dudes until now. Giving off some Fleshgod Apocalypse vibes, which I'm all for. Definitely going to check out more of their stuff. 🤘
This album is heavy af. And great review!
*_Wheee! Riley is back!_*
I love deathcore, but I really like how it is evolving away from some of the meathead/tough guy stuff and getting more experimental. I saw SOI a few years ago and they are excellent live.
Not my kind of music, but gave the video a like for the use of the word "buttfuck".
This album rips, Shadow of intent are awesome
Actually that's Chris singing in Life of Exile, not Ben. It also isn't a new thing. Chris' cleans have been on all their albums, most recently before this album on the song Malediction, and all the way back in The Twin Revelation in Primordial. They're fucking awesome man.
"Halo enthusiasts" That's about all I need for the review, time to go and listen to my new favourite band, thanks!
I wasn't sure if I intended to listen to Shadow of Intent as I'm not big on deathcore (exception Despised Icon), but I'll give it a chance. I can recommend 2 releases from this week, first is the melodic death metal band Sarcasm and their album Stellar Stream Obscured and some fantastic black metal (also from Finland), The Mist From the Mountains and their album Monumental - The Temple of Twilight.
i am stoked for the new vehemence !
Welcome Back ,Riley
Obsessed with Riley ❤️
That Vaino is dope. Stumbled on it Black Metal Promotion the other day.
This album is phenomenal. I wasn't a big fan of Melancholy, but Reclaimer and Primordial will always be my favorites. This album is really impressive. Im so proud of these guys!
I'm not into deathcore usually, but this album is awesome!! From the production to the quality of the music writing. And it has Chuck Billy in the mix🤘🤘 Just a great, creative metal album.

Shadow of intent can officially not make a bad album. New one takes the cake once more. More everything. Just fucking awesome. Also: Have you heard Nostalghia - Here, at the end of all things ? Black metal from Mexico with absolutely beautiful riffs. Might be your cup of tea.
Thank you Ms Riley!!
Elegy is a beautifully brutal album. Fucking love it.
As soon as i saw that Francesco Ferninni of Fleshgod was doing the keys and orchestrations i knew it was going to be killer. Awesome album!
On that day The Dali THundering Concept released their third album: "All Mighty Men - Drifting Through a Prosthetic Era" and it is an absolute banger. Hope this will catch the attention of the banger crew (Dylan if you read this), as it is a great progressive and adventurous Metalcore/Deathcore (and more) record. Besides that, great review from Riley, wish we could see her more on Banger :)
Now, I totally have to listen to that album!
So excited to see them with Cannibal Corpse in a few weeks!
Finally banger giving them credit they teased us hard last album🤣
Does anyone know where I can find a CD for this one??!!! It seems to be super difficult which suckssssss. Really amazing album! The production is flawless, guitars are so clean and well done, and Ben’s vocals are insanely good as always, he’s doing so much and executing it so well.
Great job Riley
Maybe I’m wrong but everyone thinks Ben Duerr is doing the cleans and the man behind the cleans is Chris Wiseman!
Riley is the heart and soul of banger❤
I fucking love this band. I'm gonna go see them with whitechapel in March down here in Florida.
Man!!! Girl!! Do you buy vintage metal merch for this shop? What if I have stuff to off-load?
Finally 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 delay is not denial.
I actually really enjoy this album, Side note...Agreed. Virvum - Illuminance is an absolute banger
Gorgeous ♥
Hi riley, where you from? What's your favourite band?
It’s interesting to see people commenting that deathcore is getting more experimental these days when really this is what The Faceless perfected a decade ago.

Yep literally, this is why i dont see this band as anything special, they do what symphonic and melodic bands have been doing for years and get so much praise lmao. not my kind of band but fairs if people like it
Ngl, deathcore / metal core has never been my go to but after this and the new FFAO release I’m becoming a convert
That's Chris Wiseman with the "cleans". It's not new, it's pretty abundant on Melancholy.
solid new albu although I enjoyed Melancholy more. I have to give FFAA the preference before SOI although it is by no means a bad album. that being said, Life Of Exile and Blood In The Sands of Time is some of the hottest shit SOI have put out yet!
That Tool mention into saying “They found out how to make all the puzzle pieces fit” had to be intentional right??? RIGHT!?!?!?
Great album
Cool. Cloakroom released a killer album.
agalloch shirts damnnn!!!
Sounds good...wish they could have titled the album differently than amorphis tho
I wasn’t sure how I’d describe the “change” in this S O I record. It definitely has a darker and heavier edge to it. That may also be the better mix. What I like about this, is while it’s still melodic tech death. It’s definitely progressed down a more black(ened) route and it’s resulted in a more complete, heavier sound. While still being tech death as balls.
Did your bf do a TikTok on Tool's name? I saw a TT video on that yesterday. So weird you say that.
Why are there so few reviews from you
This sounds very derivative of Mafia era Fleshgod Apocalypse, which is an album I did love when first getting into extreme metal outside of thrash. That being said, this isn't bad but I am not into it at all. But I am SUPER fuckin stoked for the next Vehemence album

Francesco Ferrini from Fleshgod Apocalypse did the keyboards on this album. How fucking cool is that?
I'm a 48 year old dude coming from nine inch nails, Tool, Nirvana, Alice in chains and.... I ended here getting my ass kicked by Shadow of intent with tremendous pleasure 😂, love this album wich I discover few hours ago already bought it on Qobuz at 30 euros to get the best sound possible, now gotta get merchs from them
If Riley just did all the reviews I wouldn’t be mad..
Blackened Symphonic Deathcore 👍
You had me at butt fucks it into the void.
Great review, but a minor nitpick, nothing big, but its Chris Wiseman who does the cleans, but the bassist also contributes to most of the cleans.
8/10 prefer there other albums but still top tier group!
rileys my fave shhh dun tell blayne hes me second fave 😭 more riley 💞
Clean vocals?))))
4:44 I came here to see who is coming to point out that there is no way to compare Tool and Shadow of intent. 🤔
I can see what you mean by saying it's too long but when it's my favorite band of all time, I'll take whatever the fuckin music they throw at me. But good review.
Clean singing is not by Ben its Chris the guitar player.
I love this woman. Also love shadow of intent. I also need a woman who listens to shadow of intent
Um, that's not the explanation of the band's name I remember them giving in interviews back in the nineties 😏
Knowing Maynard’s sort of juvenile sense of humor, I think Tool was named after a slang term for penis. The “tools for art to come through” sounds deep, but if you know Maynard at all… nope, it’s penis…
They had clean Vocals befor on Melancholy, they are done by the Guitarist and Bassist.
Album art could have been better. Will check them out though.
Is this amy lee's cousin?
Album is descent, their last album was better, but solid release.
I mean I get the hype about this blackened/symphonic deathcore But to me this all sounds like even more overproduced B-Side Dimmu Borgir with Breakdowns
hey! first time i got the 666 likes!
The only thing I don't like is the artwork.
Shadow of Intent = Deathcore Tool. You've heard it here first.
Deathcore falls into the same trap that Metalcore has over the past 10 years. Too much Djent influence and not enough Death Metal in the guitar tones and drumming is too plastic sounding. Wish Deathcore was more like OG Suicide Silence production wise (The Cleansing esque)
Album of the year. Nothing will top this and it's only January.
I will be straight forward honest. I don't like deathcore in general and not more ''Shadow of Intent'' in particular. I came here today, first because I like banger tv of course, but I also like Riley and it is refreshing to not have (again) ''have I all the attention now?'' Blayne Smith on another video of BangerTv. Riley is intelligent, well articulated, warm and engaging, down to earth and not there to be the ''star of the show'' or anything. ... oh and, of course, she has in general really fucking great taste in metal (well ... maybe not in this particular instance though hehe) \m/ Sébastien (from the province of Québec).
Has Deathcore been good this whole time and I just didn’t believe it? Was I the asshole???
Ahhh, wrong Elegy.
