    Just kind of detail Hitchcock did so well. Spielberg is that kind of visual storyteller too, a director who tackles the Big Questions but is just as careful with the little things.

    Hitchcock's favourite. Joseph Cotten used to spend every Fourth of July with Alfred Hitchcock and his family. I once knew the lady who became nanny to Hitchcock's daughter. She said one day the front doorbell rang....she answered it and there was Cary Grant. He said "Hello!!" and kissed her on the cheek. She told me she didn't wash her face for a week.

    Why would you think a movie has to be modern to be good. You're asking for murder scenes, blood, and sex because that is all Hollywood seems to offer. Hitchcock can not be replaces by modern.

    @@patstokes3615 Um yeah guy (or girl), I think you missed my point not to mention my handle which is ALLNEWSUX...I loathe modern cinema, think the 21st century is full of nothing but crap and spend all my days across different platforms online trying to inform people about the greatest of all things pre-21st century which would definitely include Hitchcock. Don't confuse my compliment to the uploader as love for new Hollywood...also, when the Hell did I "ask for murder scenes, blood & sex"?

  • @acdragonrider

    @acdragonrider

    Pat Stokes blood, sex and gore is everything I see as wrong with Hollywood today. It’s terrible how ingrained all three have become in modern culture and movies. Hitchcock once said during the filming of psycho that he did it in black and white so they didn’t have to show the blood. But you knew it was blood. His love scenes in notorious or North by northwest. Sexual innuendos and suggestive. But never over the top or excessively pornographic. Because you don’t need that. Any story should be told as simply and cinematically as possible and everything needs to be subordinated to the story.

Nice job on the edit. No sarcasm. SIGH--- just watched the original 1943 trailer---your version arguably gave away even less information and in a very compelling way---arg, you got me twice....
