Shadow Dancer is a platform game released by Sega in 1989, for the Arcade rooms.
Joe Mushashi, the master Ninja whose hands and feet are lethal weapons, battles again together with his faithful pet dog Yamato.
In the center of the city, a group of terrorists are committing every imaginable atrocity known to man, including the planting of time bombs throughout the metropolis.
Our hero and his canine companion courageously set out to gather all the explosives placed by the evil gang and annihilate the syndicate that manipulates them.

Bueno, bonito y barato. Sigue la estela del Shinobi, unos dicen que lo mejora y otros que va a peor, sobre gustos... En mi caso, lo jugaba mucho de joven en los recreativos, es un juegazo sin duda.
Like. Como te dije ayer en otro comentario, este es un juegazo en el que usas al lobo blanco de maravilla y esto simplifica mucho el juego. Otro para la saca, jajajaja. Un saludo compañero.

Que grandes juegos se sacaba Sega de la manga, y que pena que no haya prosperado en el tiempo...Pero siempre nos quedarán estas joyas.

Si, estoy de acuerdo a mi esta segunda entrega me parece más dificil, aunque no deja de ser un juego de memorización como el primer Shinobi, creo que los ninjas son bastante mas duros en esta entrega, además de la que la fase 3 (la especie de fábrica), te permite pocos errores.

Sigue teniendo la esencia de la primera parte y eso es lo importante, casi igual de divertido aunque un poco mas corto.
I always wondered why the Genesis' Revenge of Shinobi was considered the official sequel to the original arcade game and not this. Turns out Shadow Dancer's white ninja is a nameless one, while Revenge continues the story of Joe Musashi, the hero of the first game. To further complicate matters, Shadow Dancer was remade for the Genesis with Joe instead of the nameless ninja. It was released a year after Revenge of Shinobi. Overall, it's best just to view the Shadow Dancer games as spin-offs, not sequels.

@@RetroDanuart lol. I don't understand why they needed to remake Shadow Dancer for the Genesis. Sega Genesis already had the sequel Revenge of Shinobi and later Shinobi III.

Anyway, Shadow dancer for genesis is a great game, closer to the action of the arcade, and maybe better than the original.

@@RetroDanuart The gameplay of Shadow Dancer certainly resembles the gameplay of Shinobi more than Revenge. That's what made no sense to me. Revenge of Shinobi is a bit more like Ninja Gaiden for the NES than a Shinobi sequel.

In terms of gameplay that's true. Maybe the developers wanted to promote the Megadrive game somehow, despite it's an outstanding title even without the Shinobi theme.

A good sequel for Shinobi.
I think I found out where ninja magic formula are taken from: the shingon buddhism (which actually is indian). The pronounciation of those mantras is horrible. 1) Om sammaya sattva - "I am an embodiment of the pledge" 2) Namah samanta buddhanam bhah - "Homage to all the Buddhas" 3) Om ara pa ca na - no translation, but refers to enlightning wisdom . It's just a bonus stage. Videogames have some weird situations, like finding roasted chickens in a wall :)
