Rehman is one of the pioneers in new audio technology, key board programming in india and till date rehman is one of the best key board programmers in india. When bajaj made a change to their band endorsment in 2001, ar rehman was chosen to compose thier jingle ( check 2001 bajaj ad in youtube ). He is the composer of famous spirit of unity concerts aired in doordarshan in 90's, composer of ads like Titan Watches (1991 ad ), hero honda, renault india, bajaj hoodibaba ad etc

Sanjay Dutt is clearly the best looking hero in history of Bollywood.... luv his awkward way of dancing as well...

Border and Daud released at the same time..may be couple of weeks difference... Border was a super hit... Daud, not a powerful story...yet, ARR made it a super hit. Daud was super hit only because of music..

Urmila really was outstanding in her dance and acting in this song. And with RGV's direction there is so much action going on in each scene of the song with props and background actors. It's refreshing to see long takes with complex choreography, executed to perfection. And of course the music genius of A R Rahman. A timeless masterpiece !

Another timeless track from AR Rahman. I first started listening to his music when I was in 6th grade and we used to have cassette based walkmans lol. The guys music still sounds better than what contemporary music directors are producing in Bollywood

@@peaceplease1996 The imagery and music of the song is very abstract. Even though the movie is taking place in modern times, Chacko's Kingdom is in some 'medieval times'. It's still in the hunter gatherer times- hence, the period Amar chithra kadha set up in the song. Beyond that, you can see a lot of dwarfs and other 'different looking' people there. The kind of people Fellini would call 'Freaks'. There is a film directed by Fellini named Satyricon ( Very famous Italian movie). That medieval set up is inspired from that film also. Not just that film, it is also the Indian wild west. Wild west is a genre in the American cinema which is also known as Westerns. Clint Eastwood is one of the popular faces from that genre. Our own Sholay is a mix of three wild west films- Once upon a time in the west, Magnificient seven, a fistful of dollars. The villagers and set up in this song is also inspired from the set ambience of Sholay. For records, Ram gopal varma is a big fan of Sholay. And if you look at the sync singing of the song, not just humans but even animals sing- like the bakri sings "oh boo shaa". Lol. The sharp, immediate 'zoom-in' shots of Sanjay Dutt(2.24 to 2.25) is from the 70s chinese action films. Later, Tarantino used it to maximum in films like Kill Bill. There is so much subtle stuff in this one song.

You compare Rahman’s works in the nineties and that of other Hindi music directors who produced the same formulaic stuff for every film … just realise how much of a phenom this man AR Rahman is! Also RGV for showing the stroke of genius to intro Rahman to Bollywood

Music is fine But the credit goes for The Mixing and Mastering Man H Sridhar who has an Amazing ears.Unfortunately he passed away due to Heart Attack few years back.

@@Perfectsound88 h sridhar is fine he is a genius but ar Rahman was an audio engineer himself so the way he approached his recording sessions and mixing n then mastering sessions were unique for that time...he himself agreed there were not any who could do that work ..so sridhar was of course helping him out but ar rahman knew exactly what he wanted
