    I've just bought one of these and I went through the exact decision process that you did. I've had it 10 days now and get more and more pleased with it every day. It had been 36 years since I'd gotten on a motorbike and was amazed how easy it was to get going again on it. I did drop one clanger though. On leaving the showroom with it, 36 year old muscle memory kicked in and I reached for the clutch...oops, that's the back brake! I came to a rather abrupt stop and I'm sure the guy who was seeing me off had a little chuckle. Being an old Bristolian I really enjoyed your tour of the area and the airport. Nice Video, thanks.

    I can relate to your comments. After 40 years without riding a manual geared motorbike, I sat and passed the New Zealand learner licence last weekend and am about to upgrade my Suzuki UZ50 moped to a Honda 110 scooter. Sadly, we don't have the SH125 over here, as it would be my first choice. Not sure whether you ever watch Scooter In The Sticks on KZread, but he views scooter riding as his antidepressant.

    Good lad. Oil change as often as you can. It pays. I've had 11 honda scooters now.Bulletproof engine. Wind shear can be bad sometimes, and rear punctures on the back wheels, the S wing was bad for that, Now it's time for a new SHi 125. And don't be a weekend warriors. Nice vid...cheers

    Thanks Paul, I've been riding that model [same colour] since july 2020, and it's the bees knees so to speak. It attracts some attention, and is a good conversation starter. Having ridden many bikes on and off for over forty years at this point. Storage fuel consumption belt drive, all the bells and whistles. Haven't done an oil change myself, would appreciate a video on that.

    I've ordered the SH125i waiting for stock. First bike I had I shared with my brother, an RS100 Yamaha. My first bike was a Honda CB125T. The model before yours. It had 16.5 HP and was very fast. I rode a Honda FSX 50 to work for almost 8 years and had a car since 1981. In 2016 I bought a Vespa to help my riding addiction I started Deliveroo in 2018. I passed my A1 during 2016 so I wouldn't need L plates or to do another CBT. I've done some 30,000 miles on my Vespa and getting the SH because of larger wheels, dual abs, traction control and more space under the seat. You have helped me with my choice, thanks. I am keeping my Vespa because it's a work of art! But the 11 inch wheels do nothing to improve pot holes. Nice vid and ramblings!!m I'm also having heated grips as I ride all year.

    Hi Paul, really enjoyed your review. I have a 110 Vision and commute a 43 mile round trip daily. I’m thinking of fitting a screen but have always found them very noisy on previous motorcycles I’ve owned. Could you please tell me if you get much wind roar from your screen compared to riding without a screen?

  • @edwardsp1916

    @edwardsp1916

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Kenneth, thank you for your kind words. The windshield came fitted and therefore I cannot compare the before and after, however, based on my current motorbike I would say a taller windshield does reduce airflow noise. I've sold the Sh125 and now have a Tricity 300. This came with a shorter windshield which I found did not reduce airflow noise. I have since fitted the taller windshield and the noise on motorways has reduced considerably. It thin it depends on how tall the rider is and the height of the screen, but I have found a windshield where the top is just below (perhaps as much as a few inches) the eyeline of the rider will be high enough to direct the majority of the airflow away from the riders head. The 110 seems a great scooter.

    Hi Du L, I've never had a passenger so cannot let you know, however, I have loaded up for motocamping and the scooter remained rideable. As with all 125's do not expect to be 'blasting' up hills! I now have a 300cc scooter and I'm still impressed with the SH. I used the SH125 as a daily commuter for 13 months and was really pleased with it. One thing I notice going to a much heavier machine is just how light and maneuverable the SH is.

    Hi TOPSK. The windscreen is an Honda accessory, in my opinion, well worth the cost if you ride in a cooler climate. The practical part of the scooter was a large reason why I went for the SH125. I could go shopping and come out with 3 bags fulls of shopping and store them in/on the bike (1 in the topbox, 1 under the seat and one on the shopping hook between the feet. To be fair to the PCX, I have never ridden one, but the SH did everything I needed. All the best.

    Just thought I'd add my tuppence worth. I've been riding a Vespa primavera since 2016, done just over 32000 miles on it. Only 11 inch wheels and no abs, also drum brake at the back. I still love the Vespa but decided I needed a bike with the largest wheels possible to make the pot holes more manageable. I spent ages looking at spec of various bikes, including the medley. I chose the SH125i based purely on spec and reviews, as my dealer did not have one in stock. Tweet and liberty were also much cheaper options. I picked my SH up 5th May sadly without the screen I had ordered, it was on back order in fact being fitted this Thursday. I have not been disappointed with this bike, most I have had out of a tank is 195 miles, because I forgot to fill up. Reasons I chose this bike, 16 inch wheels front and back, dual abs, traction control, keyless ignition (just have the keys in my pocket). The longest distance quoted on a tank of fuel 190 miles. Just hit over 3000 miles. My top box does not use a key, the key is only to remove the box! I also have the nuckle guards which help keep the wind off your hands, I do have heated grips. Oh one last thing, the flat floor with the bag hook actually works to carry shopping, this never worked on the Vespa due to the tunnel for the battery, so probably same issue on the pcx.

I appreciate my thoughts may not help you now (as you asked 2 months ago!) but I'll reply for others that may have the same choice. In my list was the Super Cub, The PCX and the SH125. I loved the retro look of the Cub but ruled this on out due to the lack of storage. I chose the SH125 over the PCX as it had traction control, 16" front and rear wheels, ABS front and rear, disk brakes front and rear and more storage as the 2020 included great storage under the seat, a 35 ltr top-box and the cargo hook. I did 77k on a Honda anf125 (c90 copy) in all weathers, plastered in acf50. Was in lovely condition when sold. The only criticism of these twist and go scooters is the lack of kick start if you have a flat battery or starter fail, regulator/rectifier issues. On the other hand the belt drive doesn’t need maintenance until 12 k and then really east to change if you have a power socket gun. On my anf despite having a chain guard I had to take chain off every 4 months and soak in diesel as links were seized. I have had an x max 250 and sh300 since. The xmax I took to southern Spain and back twice.the rear brake pads on this model and all sh models is a pain in the butt. Still better than chain maintenance. Looking at 125s again as bigger scooters although fast the mpg was 70 ish. Lovely review thanks

    Thank you for your comment, very interesting. Since making the video I'd sold the SH and bought a Tricity 300, great machine but I missed the smaller engine bikes so have just picked up a Super Cub. This is my first bike with a chain so we'll see how that goes!
