手技TEWAZA「津軽塗」Tsugaru Lacquerware/伝統工芸 青山スクエア Japan traditional crafts Aoyama Square
Tsugaru-nuri is said to have originated in the late 17th century. This is the northernmost region for producing traditional lacquerware. The process of numerous separate applications of colored lacquer on wooden substrates and polish are repeated.

Super video: I love you han work.
I wish your videos were longer and a bit more in depth into the crafts they depict. The video quality is superb but I always feel something is missing because they are not thorough enough. I hope you would be able to make more videos showing the whole process from start to finish of a particular craft because they are so wonderful to watch. And I am sure nobody here would complain to a 10min or 15min video on each craft, as it is so relaxing to watch. Anyway thank you for these short videos too!!

Japnanesee craftsmen have a thing... a thing that is lost in most of the western world. I don't know what... maybe pride ?
Уважение и восхищение!

I'm sorry. It is not cloth, "wooden container" is right. write "wooden container" as "木地" in Japan.

it helps the lacquer stay on without it would just chip off
This is what I call art. Not modern shit that fetches millions of USD because theres a blue line on a canvas.

Great craftsmanship, but overuse of shallow focus on the camera makes the video unconformable to watch.
It's ugly
