But it's soooo very satisfying to see the end result of all that sweat, hard labor, sore aching muscles, blisters, splitters and anything else you had to endured while building that project of your.. I've worked in woodwork for many years and I don't know about anyone else, but I just *love* the smell of raw wood...

I don't think he did so because of respect for nature, it would be rather than some kind of Zen in meditation and for his peace of mind. Or maybe the traditional way is the way he is used to.

cyan pramis: I was sittng here thinking the same thing. Had it been an American, there would have been so many electronic tools, i.e. table saw/band saw, drill press, planer, digital measuring devices, routers, etc. This is what my father use to called a "honed skill'.

It also shows us what to look for in gathering and prepping the raw materials needed for this demonstration.The time it took to complete the project is edited out while leaving each stage of the process in the film. The settings used helps us to relax and focus on what the craftsman/woman and artist is showing us. Instead of searching for something about this video to deride and criticize as "fake," just relax and enjoy the beauty of the craftsmanship and artistry being shown.
