Because the cats won't learn otherwise, and they can't progress from drinking only mother's milk. They need solid foods to grow bigger and stronger. Their bodies need meats etc. To grow their adult teeth, and bones to strengthen. A cat won't live half as long consuming nothing but mother's milk. So irresponsible.

Same. I never allowed inappropriate suckling with my cats. It is not good for the mothers. Just as some mothers do not have the natural instinct to nurse/care for their young, some do not have the instinct to know when it is time to wean. If the mothers do not discourage the inappropriate suckling, the owners should separate them. It can cause serious health problems in the mother if she continues to allow adult cats to suckle.

Is the mother cat pregnant? If she is have her spayed. That would be the only reason she is still producing so much milk. Her teets look very full.
