For the curious, non-Effect is different from Normal because Tokens, Extra Deck monsters, and Gemini monsters treated as Normal are still effected by cards that say "Non-Effect monsters"

Tenyi revolve around one or two non-Effect Link monsters, which is why their wording is so specific as well. and since most of their other cards are Wyrms, they work way too well with Swordsouls.

You can tell who plays at least a little more competitively here. Last episode Matt was on generaider and now on swordsoul tenyi while everyone else is on super casual like blue eyes. Love it Matt lol

My favorite deck runs Hero’s as they are my favorite archetype, but thanks to master duel and watching Arc-V Ive really been enjoying my Dimension dragon deck. It’s the deck that taught me pendulum summoning

Uncle destroying one of the most annoying monsters in modern Yugioh (Chaos Angel) with smashing ground made me happy :P

Id love to see more Yu-Gi-Oh, honestly I kept forgetting you guys play and it's great to see one of if not my favorite content creators enjoy one of my oldest hobbys. As I said in the last part my main deck is Buster Blader but I also have one for Red eyes, Blue eyes, Armed Dragon, Slifer, Obelisk, Ra, and Exodia.

The best frame of reference we had for Waboku was when Tea played it against Mai in the anime. It protected both Tea's monster and her LP from Mai's attack. Between that and its vague text about damage, Yugiboomers could piece it together.

This was truly fun to watch. Answering Johnny's question, I switch between Pure Heroes/Neos deck or Galaxy-Eyes.

Ngl, wished that they did play GOAT format so that Greg isn't just running the joke of being a fossil into the ground. Even if it did mean that they'd be forced to run YGOPRO (unless there's good reason to not do that anymore). Also, when I was getting into Master Duel, I ran Branded, but that was because I was playing F2P and transitioning from Eldlich, which transitioned from Zombie World.

If we see more yugioh in the future Matt should show off that red eyes deck it's been talked about enough over different lps that I'm curious to see it

1:19 I believe the reason is because there are Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz’s with no effects. My fav Yugioh card of all time probably has to be Number 54: Lion Heart Absolutely would love to see more of this for Smackdown Sunday. Or maybe one of the story games for a playthrough

This is a fun watch! Haven't really played much master duel and play more of the TCG now. Very much a fan of Matt rocking the Swordsouls! Ive got that deck in paper, but my main deck is Infernoble will all the new stuff they just got Edit: just got to the end, I would LOVE to see some classic format stuff like Goat, or if any of you know it, Edison format

Would love to see more old school YGO in the future I share a similar mindset as Greg now cause it's just negates and who can OTK first now. All the funs been sucked out by Konami's greed

Currently running a skull servant deck, while it's not the best deck out there it can catch a lot of people off guard seeing two king of skull servants with 6000 atk. Not to mention it fits the theme of October

I'm a mostly Galaxy-Eyes and Resonator player. I love summoning different flavors of massive fuck-off dragons and each of them have some of my favorite aesthetics (space and underworld dragons) and summon mechanics (Xyz and Synchro). Sometimes it's fun to combo and utterly shred my opponent to bits with very few negates.

Like others I tend to cycle my favorite decks, from Red Dragon Archfiend, Live Twins, but the one deck I’ll always come back to is Superheavy Samurai, not just because it got support this year and had to get hit not long after the release… but I saw it in the anime and thought the premise was cool.

To answer Johnny's question? I would love to see more and I run a ton of decks but my top 2 deck are one the revolves around beating my opponent down with Uria Lord of Searing Flames or my Prediction Princess deck.

My go to deck will always be Galaxy-Eyes. I'll also often use Red-Eyes, Blue-Eyes, Magician and Nordic. Then there's also a couple decks i don't use often but I'd like to try from time to time like Kaiju and Kuriboh

I would love to see more master duel. My decks i prefer to play is dark magician, @ignisters, and timelords sometimes.

Non-Effect covers Fusion, Link, Synchro, Ritual and Xyz who have no effects. Normal Monster does not.

Imma be real, having YGO on the channel more often is what we need bro. This is so good.

I wouldn't mind seeing more Master Duel but I'd like to see the guys run with pre built decks based on the old anime. Think that'd help even the playing field a bit and make things more interesting so games aren't just one person setting up combo after the combo and ending the duel in just three turns.

I’ll definitely be up for more Master Duel I’m using Galaxy Eyes in the current Duelist Cup event. I have multiple decks covering all summoning methods except Ritual

These duels were a lot of fun I hope we see more master duel / yugioh content in the future. Maybe you guys can lp duelists of the roses or forbidden memories or something or capsule monster coliseum that was an a good one.

It's something I've wanted for years, and I'm so glad we finally have one, this is definitely something that should become a mainstay for the future And to answer John's question, I'm a Lunalight player, it's just so much fun to search OG Polymerization and punch out people who think they're getting a free win off me

Sole purpose of the archetype is to set cards for eventual plays down the road. Their field spell cards can protect the board while also allowing direct attacks. Non ghostricks do half damage via direct attacks

My favorite deck to run is the Elemental Heroes. I just love the designs for those monsters. I haven't played Master Duel in a year but I do remember I still wanted to add two cards in particular to my HERO deck. Magnum shield and ego boost. Those two are my favorite spells when I got back into the game years ago in high school. Magnum shield is an equip spell that at adds the defense points to the attack points if the monster is in attack mode and visa versa in defense mode. Ego boost is a quick play spell card that add 1000 attack points until the end phase. The Master Duel videos I feel have been long over due for the channel. I welcome more Master Duel in the future

At the start of Master Duel, I was running Blue-Eyes as an experiment to see if I wanted to run it or not. But then I saw more decks being used and I made my own Burnout deck, and then I ran it alongside Trickstars

Hell yeah i wanna see more yugioh content from u guys. Try that GOAT format for uncle's sake. Before this game came out i had that itch to play a bunch of yugioh games and this game is my ivory backscratcher. I was introduced to link summoning, the extra monster zone, 2 field spell cards active at once (major duelist kingdom vibes there and i love it!) and the fact that the 1st turn player effectively skips the draw phase. i started with a harpie lady deck for a bit, rocked the cyber[dark] dragon cards for a spell and now i just main Dark magician. I do have other decks on the back burner and idea table that i wouldn't mind using at some point. One time i fought someone using an insect deck which had beetroopers and the giant ballpark field spell as well as other cards that take advantage of being banished or sent to the graveyard and then have those cards recycled into the deck and thought it was pretty fucking cool so i copied that deck and put my own flavor into it. Its moments like that is why I'm glad this game came out cuz while the card pool now is overwhelming AF, i love tinkering with deck builds and seeing what i can come up with.

I main Dinomist Dracoslayer, Scrap, Ghoti and Fish Synchro :D I'd love to see you guys play more of this, or even some duel links!

I don't play Yugioh nearly as often anymore. But when I did, I mainly rocked a Toon Deck and a Spell Counter/Endymion Deck, and a Ghost Trick Deck. More recently there was the Sun Dragon and Moon Dragon deck which I got a good kick out of. But very, very recently, I run a Lunalight Deck. And I wanna build a Suship deck but getting the cards on Master Duel has been a pain. And My most powerful deck as of yet that still holds my ground against elites is a Level 10 Earth Machine Deck all based around Trains and two key cards, Revolving Switch Yard and Double Header Anger Knuckle. It's very simple but extremely effective as it revolves around doing a ton of swapping trains to make walls and be extremely defensive on the opponents turn, and then swapping out for massive powerhouses on my turn. While I still dislike how Modern Yugioh is, I can at least keep up with the opposition on my own terms rather than relying on metas and whatnot.

I run heroes (Elemental, Evil, Mask, Destiny). Would love to see you guys play more of this. It's great! And Greg, there is a great new addition to Yugioh that I think you'll really like. I was skeptical at first too, but after coming back, I like it a lot. Imagine drawing 5 every turn, unlimited* normal summons, simplified monster effects, spells and traps.There's no physical release as of yet (for now...Konami) but Rush Duel is exactly what your looking for. A strong card, is one at 1700 attk. Boss Monsters are Dark Magician, and others at 2500 attk. Their best cards are Thousand Knives and Dark Magic Attack. It's currently on Duel links, with a version on the Nintendo Switch. Try it. As an old school yugioh player (first product was Legend of Blue-Eyes/Seto Kaiba starter deck), this is the best way to duel in 2023.

My RL Deck is Blue-Eyes/Elemental Hero, but the new Deck I've built for Master Duel is Dragon/Yubel...Luck is not kind to me in either scenario, but I'm working with what I've got.

Duel Masters is actually still going in Japan. Both the TCG and the anime are very successful over there.

So, for why Toad works, it's because once an effect activates, unless it states on the card it has to be on field to resolve, it's just in the chain, it's the same reason why using Book of Moon to flip a monster you have face down is used to dodge things like Imperm. The exception is continuous cards and field spells, which just inherently have that as part of the card type. As for what I play, I got back in with Master Duel coming out, bashed my head against the learning cliff for a bit, picked up Dragonmaids (which are still my favorite though can't really play right now), And I've gotten into more control strategies lately with Labrynth and Traptrix, and also enjoying Purrely sometimes.

Super Gaming Brothers, I just wanna say: Thank you for introducing this stupid card game into my life. A long long time ago I was a casual enjoyer of the anime and a collector of some cards here and there because I never really had any other friends interested in the game to duel with. Of course, over time, the interest waned because that's what happens with interests you can't really fully experience sometimes. Nearly 20 years later I catch your last Smackdown Sunday with Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel part 1 and it sparked an interest in the card game once more (through Master Duel itself), only this time I had online friends to play with! And I'm having an absolute blast! I'm currently swapping back and forth between a Ruin/Demise Ritual deck and Dragonmaid deck I while have friends who dabble in Ghosttrick, Zombie, Cipher, and Synchro decks! My younger brother is even getting in on the action with his own Zombie deck. I actually can't believe I get to experience something I thought had long past for me so long ago. Felt like I had a second chance to have specific childhood memories I have been missing. Thank you SGB for lighting a fire in the duelist in me

Really loved seeing you guys finally play yugioh all the talk about it over the years and now finally seeing you guys play was cool. Meybe if you guys play master duel again meybe try older formats. Like in the review Jonny talked about that he still liked goat format. Seeing what each of you have build for that would be really awsome.

Hopefully, the democrats won't interfere with the duels going forward. All we have to worry about now is the Orichalcos cult interfering...Eh the boys will be fine.

Master Duel is a nice way to see how the homage has changed in the past 23 years since the manga. Homage? Yes, see the part 1 comment for those details.

Master Duel also chugs hard on even newer mobile devices too.

The gravekeeper's are extra fun to play because it just locks down a lot of moves for the opponent and Anbus helps too.

Gagaga and Gagagigo are unrelated. Gagaga is part of the Onamotopeia archetype that are based on sounds and musical beats: Gagaga, Zubaba, Achacha, etc. Gagagigo is a a set of reptiles that just evolve into bigger and stronger reptiles. Basic boi stuff

I don't play Yu-Gi-Oh much anymore, but I personally would love to see more Master Duel videos. And even though I don't play, I still wanna say that my favorite card is my Trail of Hell. Now known as Trail of Nightmare.

Master Duel is awesome and I would love it if you guys did this more. As for me, Dark Magician is my jam. It's a great Master Duel deck. Get the right cards and you can snowball some major attack points on the board

there are communities that play formats you can find and they too have tournaments also, I still want to see uncles reaction to Labrynth and again, if you play Kashtira, go die... in game

I’m fairly casual with yugioh but I love running insect monsters. My best deck is an insect beatdown deck with cards like beetrooper sting lancer, beetrooper absolute Hercules, doom dozer and a bunch of xyz insects. It doesn’t brick very often and I usually can do some solid plays even if it’s a bit slower paced with traps and battle destruction effects mixed in

I've messed around with a couple decks at this point. My first ever deck was Egyptian God Slime focused, with the Wicked monsters and stuck in there in case the God Cards didn't show up. Currently, I switch between Live/eviL Twins, Marincess (probably my best deck), and for catharsis and fun I run Sacred Beasts and a pure Time Lords deck, because nothing says "Fuck You" more than shoving the opponent's cards back into their deck. I'd love to see more YGO shenanigans in the future, when more than just Matt can whip out a couple decks and Greg can finally make the true Retro deck that will make everyone turn to dust from nostalgia.

Recommendation I'd like to make to your Uncle. Check out the Tag Force games, specifically the 1st 3. Might be up your alley, or at least decent stream fodder.

used to rock a Zombie Deck, then double syncro summon with gravekeeper Zombie to get a lvl 8 monsters and it did the damage quick with the Zombie World card.

Mostly using a galaxy eyes deck because I'm a fan of Kaito. Always on a tight rope to see if I can bring out the cards needed to bring out my beat stick Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon. Best would be if I could get Galaxy-Eyes Afterglow Dragon too

Yeah, this is why I try to keep my duels relatively quick or at least don't drag my feet on my turns. The fun or focus just goes if your either taking to long or the other player is reaching their limit. 🤷‍♂ That aside, I can't remember all of my decks. But I recall using a Dark Magician Fusion deck, Ancient Gears with a possible OTK, a Hyperion Fairy deck, various Warrior, Dragon, and Fiend decks. And some other Joke/Meme decks just for when I feel like messing around. 🤔🃏

Haven't actually tried Master Duel myself, but I'm in your Uncle's camp. Synchro was as complicated as I could stomach. Personally, my deck is a relatively standard Horus Lockout deck. Because I'm an asshole.

I love HEROs as my main go to deck. I have a lot of variety on what I can run depending on my rank in ladder. Plus it does decently well against a lot of meta decks in my experience

I never fully got into YuGiOh, not since the days of "if you lose I get your best card(s)" anyway. Even if we played fairly (and RIGHT), I Was still not willing to be That Guy that looked at the cards and their effects. I was getting enough sh*t just doing schoolwork and Barely passing through grade school. Now I gotta memorize the rules of a card game, one that I only enjoy if others were fair? Nah. All that said, I'm fully on-board with Uncle, even if it was a tad bit of game-ending rage. Even if not, I still fully agree. Watching these two parts told me that I could NEVER reenter YuGiOh even if you paid me to. Because every match might as well be the meme of the CPU doing the one-turn play of summoning Exodia and ending the game but instead, the opponent wins because I basically fell asleep mid-turn.

I'd honestly really like to see more Master Duel stuff for content. As for the kind of deck I play, I unfortunately play the deck a LOT of people hate right now, being Kashtira.

Personally, my main deck right now is Toons. I have been building decks as sets are r3eleased as a fun way to learn them, for example right now they just added more Ninjas cards so I made a Ninjas deck. I also have like 3 or 4 Dark Magician decks, some pure and others hybrid with other sets to make it more playable.

The decks i like are dragon maid, traptrix,the new reverse otk deck, blackrose, and my favorite reptilian ^^

I go to a strategy of keep my stuff alive and go for pot shots.

Literally no idea what's going on, but what I can gather is Elliot is the Jake the Dog of the group.

Suppose to toss my decks with the question in the middle, often like to run Madolche or a deck I set up to make use of Princess Cologne. Yeah may be cutesy and hardly able to be hard core impenetrable... least I'm trying to have fun with them than feeling like a carbon copy.

Ive only really been playing for year and run an Amazoness deck. Its strong and easy to follow I do well enough with it but could definitley use some improvement, as it stands, mine is very easy to break.😅

Last time I played ygo I was using Fur Hire/Tri-Brigade (and got hated for it) and was trying to learn Superheavy Samurai

I am kinda of mix between old-school and modern YGO; I like some of the newer card types and strategies (especially when it involves older cards) but I draw the line when people use 3-4 minutes to unload over half their decks and don't even give me much of a turn in response.

I run starry knight quite a bit, it's one of my fave archetypes in recent years, sadly I can't remember all the cards I have in the deck for it
