    Gosh, call me crazy, but this is your flagship pedal. It encapsulates every aspect of the true attitude of rock and roll. There really isn't anything like it. These features are so conducive to visceral playing. FET based with high and low gain stages, a baxandall tone stack voiced with a slight lower midrange emphasis? Fuck me. Every guitar and amp combination from your favorite true rock record ever. Buying one right now.

    I didn't realize he'd passed until I read your post.  Of all the ways to go . . .   life is fickle and random.  And yes, his creations and company added much to the world of music.  I personally own 4 Catalinbread pedals and will likely buy my 5th after watching this video.

    I originally bought this pedal planning on pretty much only using the stoner mode, but I’ve gotta say I’m in love with the stones mode. It’s just such a good foundation to build upon (I suppose that’s why it’s called a foundation pedal, eh?) even on its own, in either mode, it’s not hard at all to get a great sound. Some of the best money I’ve spent on a piece of gear in a long time, CB knocked it out of the park with this one

    Great video. Just bought the second version and I'm having a blast unlocking what it can do. My friends will never stop giving me shit for buying a pedal with "stones mode" but it's worth it! I don't even play all that dirty but this gives me so many options.

    I’ve listened to The Rolling Stones Live/Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out more times than I can count and this pedal absolutely nails the tone on that album. Especially “Live With Me” at 6:06. I’m pretty sure the Stones were all using Ampeg SVT amps on the live recordings for that album.

    Howard Gee Ok, I know this will be cheesy and you guys don't want to pigeon-hole this or any other pedal, but... would it be too much to listen to one or two QOTSA riffs? in one more video? I know I *didn't* particularly want to (according to my previous comment) but oh well, what can a Kyuss/QOTSA gear freak do?

    I plugged the SFT into my audio interface with the Scuffham S-Gear 2 VST and it sounded great; it had the same responsiveness as it would with a tube amp.

  • @Scooby743
    @Scooby7432 жыл бұрын

    SFT is so responsive to playing technique. Tone controls are very easy to sculpt your sound. I prefer using the Ge Karma Suture in front vs. using the Stoner mode. Use a Quilter Tone Block as Power Amp and you will have a deadly combination

    ordered one direct from Catalinbread last year and never received it. Had to fight for a while to get my money back. I like to try to support the companies directly but I'm sure I wouldn't have had as much trouble ordering through sweetwater or something. Cool pedals though.

    Before, I was on the fence about this pedal. Not any more now that you've added the stoner mode. Been looking for a pedal that could easily get me into that NIN Broken territory without using a Metal Zone like Robin Finck uses. This is so much more organic than an MT-2 but still gets me there. Awesome work, guys!

    Looking forward to the bass video, really wondering what stoner mode cranked sounds like. The SFT is my go to pedal for bass and I've been thinking of getting a back up in case something happens to it, glad when I do it's going to have the stone/stoner mode.

    What are those connectors you are using for your pedals? I have never seen ones like that. Also what 18W power supply do you recommend. I've been using the voodoo with the 2 into 1 connectors but annoyingly they decided to use straight connectors on the pedal side which makes cramming pedals really hard. I was wondering what you recommend?

    Nice pedal, only problem is it needs a Second Footswitch to switch to a clean lower gain Keith Richards Stones MODE and then can switch a high gain Keith Richards stones mode. The STONER Mode switch is good also very nice but if you have a second foot switch to change the gain level

    Not really SFT related, but the text at the beginning says that "the C10R is brighter than the alnico Celestion you hear on the other demos with the Princeton". Would that be a G10 Gold?
