To be completely honest, the dialogue and interactions actually work in a canon way. If this actually happened to the survivors, Nick would probably be the one to put the rest of them down as an act of mercy, before taking his own life. This rocks, homeboy.

I saw a SFM short film about what would happen after they got rescued by the military helicopter at the end of The Parish. They were taken to this stadium only to be executed there. Nick was the only one who managed to survive and he then proceeded to bury the rest of his group after the encounter. He then went on surviving on his own.

@@kuyagab4444 My head canon they managed to fly west to San Francisco until the chopper ran out of fuel and crashed, essentially im referring to the custom map called Day Break as a proper sequel.

Honestly nick is the one on the team who would do this. Grow a connection with the people he’s been surviving with and when it’s the end of the line he’s the one to take them out. The Mist was a pretty good movie

@@Frost43857 Probably because they're out of ammo or simply they won't survive fighting against the tank and the horde so that's why they take the easy way out, Except for Nick since he didn't save a bullet for himself

The way Nick apologies to Ellis and moments before he dies he says "we're cool" that means No matter what Nick said to Ellis he still cared about Nick And also Nick saying "Goodnight Rochelle..." That made my heart sink (also this game is childhood and I love all of these characters to bits) then Nick's classic scream that has been use at the very least once in every L4D SFM video and over all this was a great sfm

Let’s face it - without the escape vehicles, they’re left for dead. Survival maps are perfect conveyances that they’re only counting down their demise until their guns go click.

Honestly, after reading most of the messages written on the walls inside the saferooms, it's kinda sad knowing every other survivor group there was out there probably ended up dying in similar ways to this.

Alt Ending: After Nick kills the others and accepts his fate, as all sound and feeling leaves his mind, he waits outside for his sudden death but after a long 30 seconds, nothing happens, he looks up to realize he's surrounded by military vehicles and soldiers, he gets a feeling of joy before it quickly turns into dread as he realizes he had killed his friends, if he had only waited a few moments more, they could've all gotten alive.

Actually this wouldnt work due to the military being infected by the survivors, they carry the flu but do not show any symptoms this was revealed in the sacrifice comic 🤓

This is...depressing...This means every detail in this SFM is perfect which captures how it feels to give up in a dead-end situation.

It makes sense that Nick is the one to kill them to prevent them from experiencing a terrible fate. Nick has a strong will that is very useful for making the hardest choices. He's able to make some decisions others would either take time to think on or wouldn't know what to do. It's part of why I love Nick so much. He can be a dick but the guy does give a shit about Rochelle, Coach and Ellis. Respect for this man.

Out of the 4 L4D2 survivors Nick would be the only one I could imagine doing a mercy call on that.What a badass

Fun fact : This is a reference to the ending of The Mist. A movie that's based off one of Stephen King's many great books. (It's great despite its age)

The military got overrun

I could see this being a kind of ending where they got stuck at the bridge in The Passing, but the original survivors had already departed to the Keys. Nick and the others would be stranded with no way out. Once the car was out of gas and their ammo ran dry, this would likely be it. And that's horrible to consider.

I honestly love seeing Nick care about the others.

It's weird how I almost immediately knew what scene this was inspired by. Amazingly done, Zapper! Keep it up!

I missed seeing serious animations in SFM. I'm glad I find your channel.

I guess if L4D2 released at the same time as LiS, we would get endings such as this. Friendly-fires, downing allies, and restarts lead to specific bad endings. Pretty grim, but well-made.

So how would that work though would it be that if you're playing as a certain character you'd get different endings so if you get the bad ending as Ellis what would happen or if you get an ending with Francis but everyone is already dead/infected how would this work?

What I really like is how genuine the dialog sounds, alot of these types of videos sound really bad like it's just ripped from the game and the energy from their lines never feel like it matches what's happening

The cinematic composition and placing of the dialog lines made this feel real, hell, it even looks like it could be an official video from the game, good job lad

Well, I guess this is why you need 13 gas cans to collect in dead center, oh man... But real talk, this is god tier SFM amongst L4D content that is left out there. L4D has so much potential in such dark and dramatic stories, but sadly that's getting very little attention, keep it up man.

Wow, this is infact, one of the most detailed SFM's I've ever seen! The animation, Lighting, Details such as Nick being wet in the rain, all Chef's kiss. And Jeezuz Mother of God, those Coach, Ellis and Rochelle bodies are disturbing as hell, just the way they are there, especially Ellis's shot to nothing eyeball.

I know this may be embarrassing, but I actually cried when I saw this animation and I still do till this day as it’s hard for me to watch my favorite characters die

Holy fuck. I’ve seen the ending to the movie this is inspired from yet this was almost tearjerking. I’m amazed at how genuine this felt. Despite the stark contrast in mood from the ass kicking feeling of Left 4 Dead to the dreadful and depressing feeling here, you somehow still made it feel as if this was actually from the game. The only thing I’d say it’s missing is Nick dropping to his knees and screaming in both anger and sadness as the infected come for him, but I understand that was left out for cinematic purposes. Incredible work.

Left 4 dead 2 if it was actually realistic…ammo would be extremely hard to find in the apocalypse, guns wouldn’t just be scattered around for no reason…just death

I always cry in that scene.

I remember hearing a long time ago that either coach or rochelle is a carrier. Thats why some maps start with a crashed helicopter and a turned pilot. The others are "immune".
