I don’t think it’s a major buff. It’s about the same treatment as everyone else that wasn’t Ryu, A.K.I, or Gief. With how predictable Ken is now by mere exposure, he’s not moving much anytime soon, but he’s still very viable

I think it is CRAZY that Tokido of all people has seemingly dropped Akuma to go back to Ken. Originally thought he was just going back to Ken in tournaments for now as he continues to lab Akuma but even online he seems to be making a full return to Ken. If Tokido of all people is dropping his Akuma there must be something VERY wrong. He is like THE Akuma loyalist in the pro SF scene and has been for like over a decade.

safe to say that Tokido is sticking to Ken, been seeing alot more replays of him back on the character recently

Don't sleep on akuma he just came out and needs to be labbed extremely hard tokido didn't give up he just realized that fact

Akuma is not top tier. He is A tier, definitely not a bad character, but in a game where every character can do 6k+ damage having the lowest HP is terrible, his air FB disapears after getting hit, not to mention his low forward is pretty bad...

His damage is very high, best shoto fireball, oki off of almost everything, great corner carry, very good buttons, great buffers, all 3 supers have their use. The amount of ways he can be +2 to +4 is absurd. Low health isn't really an issue when you have strong neutral, on top of taking 6k damage (full meter dumb btw) you still need to be hit 2 times/thrown twice. Usually ends up being the same amount of interactions.

​@graveaxel3607 still not worth it to get killed by 1 combo and 2 grabs from Marisa talk less of the Zangief beat down. On a pro level Akuma ain't taking no one anywhere. Look at what happened to punk and menaRD in Dallas. Mens got washed with Akuma and went bak to their default characters but it was too late

@becks3six9 The character just came out, optimizations and consistency take time. The Marissa argument doesn't make sense, she can 2 touch any standard 10k health character with just 1 good DP punish. The fact that Mena even tried to use a brand new character in tournament play speaks to how much potential there is, not the opposite.

@@graveaxel3607I agree. People need to stop downplaying Akuma especially with how recent he is. And with what we have seen, it makes no sense. I think he’s one of the best right now and many players have proven this. Just because he has a few bad matchups doesn’t mean he’s not S or high A, which just means there was some consideration for his design. Every character has bad matchups and given that his are like most of the other shotos, I don’t think he’s disadvantaged. Personally, I don’t like to take Gief and Marissa matchups into account since those damage outputs are busted anyway

I love akuma but so far he is trash unless you want to play a fire ball zoning shoto style. None of his tatsu hits crouch and his damage is so low outside of the corner. Slow stubbu buttons too.

He's definitely very very good. His buttons are ridiculous. And gets great damage off easy bnbs. Literally low health is the only fault he has. He has combos that force the opponent to stand so you should never be whiffing tatsu.

Akuma is extremely boring to play. Capcom might have gotten lucky with season 1 because season 2 is not fun. Akuma is such a dry character, which makes me worried for the future of sf6. I don’t know how they made the base cast so interesting yet made Akuma so basic and boring. It takes less than a day to learn the character. He’s that shallow, no interesting mixups, no cool combos. What a waste.

More secure to play Ken, Akuma do more damage but die more quiclky. Impossible to see Akuma on top 8 at Evo....
