SEYDEL Harmonicas introduced by Rupert Oysler
Музыка
Rupert Oysler gives a very good introduction to the SEYDEL product-range, including the new SESSION STEEL Blues Harmonica.
C.A. SEYDEL SOEHNE is the oldest harmonica maker in the world (since 1847) and is still producing in Klingenthal / Germany.
SEYDEL produces high quality instruments and is the only maker using stainless steel for the sounding parts of a harmonica.

I’m a new player but I’ve tried quite a few, I have to say the 1847 is my favorite so far. It’s the easiest to play for me. Very tight and easy to get single notes also easy to get bends. I’m sure other brands make good harps but this is definitely a good one. I think you get what you pay for.
Treated myself to a Big Six and I love it. From the unique can to the lanyard and the harmonica itself. By no means an expert player, but I love the sound it makes. Stainless Steel reeds do make a difference. And the hermatically sealed German air was a refreshing breeze compared to the smoggy British town where I live.

I have bought two and it is the easiest bending harp I have. I kid you not, it is the most responsive. I wish its bigger brother 1847 Classic was sold in Türkiye.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Give this guy an Emmy. He sold me on the Germanic air that comes in the can.
Can anybody comment on Seydel blues session (standard) quality? I'm interested in trying one out..
Excellent overeview! thanks Rupert!

I bought seydel chromatic standard 48 harmonica key of C New from Amazon cost me $ 80. It's mouthpiece is not airtight. While playing too much have to blow & drow. No good. I am not satisfied.
Why are there so many dislikes?

Hohner fanboys. I own Hohner, Seydel and Lee Oskar harps. They are all equally good. But Seydel have the stainless steel reeds and they are always a winner for me.

Muttley I have bought way too many poor quality Hohner harps to go back to them. If they have improved their quality and offerings as I have heard they have done, good for them. Not interested.

@@andrewbeattieRAB I only started learning just over a year ago with a Special 20. Didn't want to break the bank with my first harp. I didn't have any issues with it. So maybe they have improved since you last tried them. I much prefer Lee Oskar and Seydel, although like I said, Seydel are my go-to because of the reeds.

Muttley Well, you nailed it. If you’re going to buy a harp in the Hohner line, buy the special 20 ! I probably bought a half a dozen of them over the years. They however have been Very difficult to overblow. For quite a bit of time now, I have switched to finger style blues guitar. After 20 years of playing the harp, I just kind of grew tired of it. What I really mean is that I grew tired of not having a chromatic scale to play.

andrew beattie The chromatic harmonica sounds like the thing for you
I didn't know that Berlin does play the harmonica
I got a solist pro. When the reeds eventually wear out is it possible for me to buy steel reeds from an 1847 n pop them up instead?
EXCELLENT VIDEO I would have put Mr Chuck at the front.😎

I just wish that the individual Harmonica cases weren’t so expensive. 24.95 each is a bit much for ONE case.
I'm a beginner and plan to purchase a chromatic harmonica, but I can't decide between the Hohner 10 Educator or the Seydel Chromatic. ppl say that the Seydel one is softer and has air leaks but apparently the Hohner ones break easily. any advice?

Hi, At first I bought a Horner Special 20 and the 6 hole gave out right away,so I switched to a Lee Oskar C Major Diatonic that was much easier to play. Also you can change the reed plates when you think you need too. I haven't needed to do that, in quite awhile. The 2 & 3 holes are easy to play as will until you can master a clear note, also easy to bend. I learned and graduated to playing a better harmonica. Hope this helps you :-)

Debii Deruelas I have three Lee oskar harmonicas in the keys of c,a,e, and they are very easy to play I really like them a lot the sound of them are good and they play really smooth to but I do have some Hohner harmonicas to but they are not as good as Lee oskar's harmonicas what ever I learned or what to learn I always start with the hohner harmonicas because they are harder for me to learn on then I go to my Lee oskar's harmonicas which is so much easier because the the Lee oskar's harmonicas are so much smoother I hope this can help anyone

I think it is even between them. Marine Band Deluxe fares equal to Seydel Big Six.
Gr8.
If i remember correctly, a clock maker made what would eventually become the harmonica.

Randy Woodworth nah it was some chinese dude a few thousands years ago. Made this dark tower of horror instrument (no shit). Thats where the whole “metal reeds” idea came from.
I only play Seydel.. :)

I don’t like wooden combs, and that orange comb on the session steel is really really ugly, and the other two are a bit too expensive.

If you wanted to get Seydel Nobles (the ones with aluminum combs) you could just buy replacement reed plates as they wear out since the combs and covers are completely solid and washable. That way you only pay the expensive price once.
