I was under the impression that women in the porn videos were willing participants. It was a shock to discover these are trafficked women or drugged, tricked etc. It's the conditioning we learn about women that I discovered is very far from respectful to humanity and myself too. Best away from this kind of thing.

If you were looking to go on Tudong soon, I understand Ajahn Martin is leaving his Monastery due to Western Monks being disrespectful, entitled and not practicing Dhammavinaya. All those years he trained and poured himself into building a good Monastery with no corruption only to have virtually no one to support the practice. He would treasure your dedication Bhante. His latest video in his KZread channel is worth listening to for everyone practicing Dhamma. Meanwhile this talk doesn't bother me as I'm celibate. Thank you and hope you are well and happy.

I think they are called Hijra, those born with 2 genders, they wear female clothing to honour the Goddess in Hinduism, and Eunuchs who are actually castrated males who dress as women. I saw a docco years ago and it is traced back in history to when males castrated themselves to serve the Royal family,the Enuchs, wereas Hijras are born with 2 genders. Also, this reminds me of Ajahn Brahm who asks why people keep asking him about sexual issues, marriage, romantic relationships, he says, I'm a Monk! Also people seem to be unaware that Buddhist Monastics can not and do not conduct marriage ceremonies - blessings yes, but not actual nuptials. And that the world also includes what is called the body so yes, to be celibate means you completely drop all interest and actions (life is easier if we do anyway) thank you for talking about the reality of Pornography. Its been proven that it rewires the brain much like those awful experiments on Rats where a buzzer that gave an electric shock was put in a cage along with food, the Rat ended up pressing the buzzer over eating. Porn rewires where humanity appears as objects to use and only for one's personal sense satisfaction, that cant be satisfied, much like the poor rat with the buzzer. It all comes back to understanding the 4 Noble Truths truly and yes, someone is always watching all we do - us 🙏

As unsavoury as those emailers were, at very least you were reminded of how carnal some humans are. The way you so tactfully described these too-much-information messages you had to read, I actually experienced the revulsion you must have experienced. Perhaps let people know that yiu are a Celibate Monastic and therefore have no association anymore with this topic. One has to ask whether these people are practising Buddhists or are just seeking someone to carry them. We either practice or we don't and that includes respect and extra respect for Monastics, being aware of the extra training rules you are practising.

Thankyou for your talks Bhante. One questions I have, what is the Buddhist method to deal with feeling tired? Ive heard of some monestaries holding all night sitting sessions, surely there is a perspective on fatigue that helps one overcome it?

Have you Bhante watched the movies "The Matrix" and the "Star Wars" series? Ignoring the action scenes, for me as a teen in Europe they were the first glimpse into Eastern Spirituality. Do you have any personal observations about elements of Dharma that can be introduced to teens by this way? How is Buddhist path different from "unplugging from the Matrix"? Except for the light saber, how are you different from a Jedi 🙂 ?

No but I have heard of them. The word of the Buddha in the Suttas is the best way to introduce Dhamma.

Not to be rude, but 40 min.of talking and you said almost nothing. It's the same with all the scriptures,they use one word "sila" ok..that doesn't explain much ether. Let me say it with one sentence,...If you don't preserve your sexual energy it's impossible to open your energy channels and chakras, that means you never gonna achieve Razor sharp Mindfulness (Knowingness). You have to see clearly every single thought popping in your head to be able to stop lust( craving for sex) Even then ,you have to investigate how single thought triggers feelings, emotions and actions. Without that never gonna reach any awakening. Unfortunately most of the people doing sex and then meditate, this like a hamster wheel, spinning in circle in vain. Thank you for your videos!

I am a Catholic and wanted to make you aware of Catholic teachings. You stated that masturbation was ok with other Religions. Catholic Church teaches that is a sin against purity. The body wages war upon the spirit. One must subdue the passions if we want the spirit to reign.

Just because the Catholic Church says something does not mean it is factual or a belief everyone should adopt. The Catholic Church also says that sexual relations should only be performed when one is going to attempt conception, never any other time. So if you are not abiding by that rule, you are 'sinning.' Every time you have had intercourse without the intention to create a human being, you have sinned. Of all people to judge, right in front of you a man who lives by 227 Precepts which is subduing sensual pleasures in ways you could not cope with in your luxurious religion of Popery. Buddhism is about purifying the Citta, unlike your Monastics living in luxury, drinking alcohol, I won't even go into the breaking of celibacy and the long, long list of corruption hidden behind a face of 'love.' Have respect when you speak to a living human actually practicing purity. Perhaps you are so accustomed to the corruption you can not recognise what is wholesome. Ex catholic here, a big one too.
