Heavily inspired by classic movies like The Breakfast Club, the show often deals with dark and rarely-tackled subject matter through a comedic lens. In this video, Laurie explains her process for writing the scene.
In 2020, Laurie was nominated for the Breakthrough Talent Award at the BAFTA TV Awards and Best Writer - Comedy at the Royal Television Society Awards.

This show is extremely well written. The scene in which all of the girls reveal their experiences of sexual assault or harassment was truly captivating to watch, as well as them all uniting and putting aside their differences to help Aimee. ♥️

Well, sources state that filming has already been completed, so fingers crossed we'll see Season 3 in the summer! 🤞🌞

@@trinaq yes, the crew members posted on Instagram that filming finished around mid March. If Netflix had any sense then they’d drop S3 in the summer, July seems most probably given the time it takes for post production and promotion. They’d be digging themselves a grave if they hold on until January so let’s hope they take a bit of initiative and release it ASAP.

I'd just like to say that this show has some the best characters. Each and every one og them is so well thought of and uniquely individualised, without being pushed to extremist tropes it's insane. Not a single character is not human. And even though this show has 'sex' in the title, it undeniably has the best portrayal of friendships and non-romantic relationships. Truly a great great show❤️❤️

Filming has already finished, so hopefully we'll be returning to Moordale in the Summer months!

if I had to guess id say around late may-june but that's just a guess based on how long it normally takes shows to air after filming

Filming’s already finished, it’ll arrive in the summer - maybe July is the best bet.

@@OverkillZx23 It doesnt normally take that long for a show to air after filming, finished filming over a week ago, normally about 5-8 weeks after

@@gamesmaster1060 this is a Netflix show, it takes a while to edit and do promotion for it. The previous 2 seasons have finished filming late August/early September and release in January (4 months after). Release date was announced in November too, 2 months before S1 and S2 aired. We could get the release date announcement in May, but if we get it at the end of this month it might come in June. If the previous patterns are similar to S3 release, it’ll air in July but that’s not definite. We all want it earlier, but I don’t see it happening.

I hope the next season will have more education about sex or life. Because a lot of the youth watching porn as a pleasant place or a stress reliever.
