Fantastic. I know folks who use Otter wax (or something like that) to restore waxed fabric. I once sewed some waxed paper bag book covers that had a nice texture. Used a furniture wax.

@@bookhoudesign I've been curious about making a pouch that has some kind of accordion-style dividers. Like the pouch shown here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oaCflaeidMyWlMo.html. At a recent skillshare of yours, I think I saw that you had a zip pouch wallet (?), did that have accordion sides? NO RUSH but would love a tutorial on that kind of a 'small craft things' organizer as well.

@@bookhoudesign Oh sorry! I didn't mean the actual site. I was at a visible mending online class offering of yours, I can't recall the group that sponsored it. It was in Oct over zoom. Maybe it was just a smaller, softer, cloth version of this tool roll. I remember it had a zippered part and looked like the size of a mens wallet.

Great project and I love the pieced pouch inside!! How is your sewing machine cutting the thread after you’ve finished a seam? You also don’t have to pull/lengthen the thread after cutting it! I’ve used juki factory machines before but have never seen this.

I love this! Do you use a special sized needle for working with the heavier fabrics? What are those white things you are marking your canvas with, and put into the roll? I didn't know you had books until I read the comment below. I've followed you on IG for several years. I find your videos very relaxing, low stress.

  • @bookhoudesign

Yes you can do that, Otter sells a product with instructions on their website on how to use it. Essentially it looks like a bar of soap that is rubbed on the cloth and you use a hair dryer to even it out. You can use beeswax but I find it’s too stiff.
