What a great, versatile petticoat. I’ve never seen a ruffle made with cord, what a brilliant idea. Three gorgeous looks and one petticoat. Bravo!

Thanks so much! I'm glad to introduce the corded ruffle to you - it's such a great, easy way to make ruffles!
Great video! Lovely petticote. I learned a new method of ruffling! I enjoyed your choice of music.
So this makes it look super comprehensible and easy to do. Thank you! It was also very relaxing to watch! ❤️

I'm so glad you enjoyed it and also that I was able to share how easy this is. You can totally do it!
You have the MOST delicious color sense!
That grey-green color is yummy! And versatile, win-win!
I just discovered your channel (after years of buying your jewelry). This is an EXCELLENT tutorial! Thank you!
the petticoat itself is lovely, but omigosh--the fashion show at the end!! what a beautiful set of ensembles!!

Thank you so much! I'm happy it fit in so well with so much of my wardrobe!
Looks great! Love the cord technique thanks~
I’ve zigzagged or serged over cord to make longer ruffles for years as I can’t seem to pull threads without breaking. Your method looks so much neater and smoother though! Definitely adding to my bag of tricks!

YOLO seamstressing for life!
What a fantastic tutorial, Taylor. I am adding this to my 2022 sewing projects for sure. Love the versatility and that ruffling technique
Oh it looks so good with the open robe! I love that color and the ruffle is perfect. Well done!

Thank you! ☺️☺️☺️
Making that ruffle with the cord amazed me. I'm now wondering if the 'smashed ruffle' is done the same way, but with a cord run through both the top and bottom seams of the ruffle. Hmmmm. Some very handy info, here. (Crossing strap low so they don't show at the neck line. So obvious and I never would have thought of that!) Thank you for the video!
Are you hiding a vintage sewing machine in that cabinet? Those mules are to die for!
Loved the third ensemble

That was my favorite too! They were all lovely, though, I'm definitely feeling inspired
What a gorgeous project, an an amazing technique for ruffles! I’ve never seen a cord used that way before, and I can’t wait to try this out.
It looks really great with all those dfferent outfits. Definitely a good near instant gratification project!
This will definitely be useful for making the skirt of a fashion plate I saw in which the hem was padded and the bodice goes over it with tabs extending past the waistline, similar to some dresses between the 1820s and 30s
I love the colour, it's so beautiful. And suits you so well!
I love love love watching your videos - you are so down to earth and helpful in your hints but most of all because I saw your underbust measurement I know you and I are about the same fit in clothes so I can see how the styles would look on me - gorgeous apparently as you look stunning in them :) thank you
Great tutorial. You made it work with so many outfits
Impressive as always. Wishing you a very Happy New Year. Your attention to every detail is second to none. Love it. ❤❤👍👍
Gorgeous! I am still learning to see but one day I will be able to do this.
Wow it goes with so many of your things. It's very nice

It's such a great method!
Great video! I am going to cross the straps in the back of my petticoat immediately. The last time I wore it (at a ball), they were falling off my shoulder all night!
Is your first robe made from a knit material? ❤ the casual look of it.
Wow what an awesome project! Thank you very much for putting this video together and sharing it :) I love the colour of the silk and how well it works with all three outfits. I am super excited to try your ruffling method because it looks like a fantastic alternative to using ye olde two rows of gathering threads, one of which will usually insist on snapping! Is that a technique they would have used in the period too?
The cord is such a neat trick, never seen that before. I guess you can't really see the machine stitches with the fabric being ruffled, right?

No, they really disappear thanks to the gathering! If you had a really fine fabric it may be better to do it by hand, but I probably wouldn't bother then, either 😉
Would this be suitable for the 19-teens high waisted styles?
