Have you made a smock dress before? What 1970s sewing patterns have you made or enjoy?

Way back in the 90s l made some smock dresses for my last pregnancy. Its lovely to see you, as a young mum, dressing so prettily!

So gorgeous. It's really not here in uk today and that dress would be so cool! I know it's a way off but looking forward to seeing your daughter wearing here 😍

I made one when I was a teenager when they were in fashion. My mom thought I was nuts, but she had been pregnant 5 times LOL

Cute! I love 60’s & 70’s patterns (slightly obsessed with the 70’s). I’m curious how you did the faux French seam?

After sewing the seam I just folded the raw edges toward the sewn line and pressed them then closed it and stitched it together. If you check out my video on 5 vintage seams it is one of them though faux French seam is not the proper name. Check out that video and I show exactly how to do it. 😊

kzread.info/dash/bejne/jGtsss5qdpyynMY.htmlsi=z8eBgXAUtJp4dQUh Here it is and it starts from 17:24. The actual name according to this sewing book is “simulated French seam.” Hope that helps 😊
