I wasn't sad to see them beat me - there was no way I would have been able to fix Last Rites one more time! I'm just glad we got to spin a little bit - would have sucked otherwise - congrats to Matt on the win, and I'll be rebuilding for next year!

Tombstone is hands down the best robot to ever grace the floors of robot battles. For a while it got frustrating seeing it cleaned the floor with every opponent. You can't learn without failure.

I was more excited watching this than any field sport. I need to find more of these.

Im trying to think of something funny to say after mother thats not a insult toward mothers but also relating to a snake... *wait oh god i hate my 25% non family friendly mind*

I came here to see Last Rites destroy and kill. But after 20 seconds i was rooting for the Sewer Snake.

sewer snake has quickly become one of my favorite bots since i found out about him, I hope you have more plans to bring him out in the future! There's something very satisfying about it

@Jerry11606 Last Rites has beaten Sewer Snake 3 times, and lost 6. Last Rites has beaten Original Sin 7 times, and lost 6. Original Sin has beaten Sewer Snake 9 times, and lost 2. Those three bots currently hold 3 of 4 spots on the all time HW record, and 3 of 4 spots on the current HW record. The truth is all 3 bots are always very close in competitions, and get referred to as "the big 3" quite often.

As Sewer Snake and Last Rites are not competing in 'Battlebots' (thus aren't under contract), I would welcome them as additions to 'Robot Wars' (especially as SS competed in the 2006 Roaming Robots Winter Championships, beating the likes of Ka-Pow and Storm 2).

Nice one! I'd heard it on one of the Combots videos, nice bit of trivia - thanks! Sewer Snake still wins in my book - I'd love to see Original Sin do some crazy robot breakdancing stunts! Seriously though, if (when!) there's another combots type tournament going off soon if some new event organisers are found, I'm going to have to fly over to the States to watch one year - there's some really fantastic robots over there!

it works good when you lift them up because the flame shoots out from under the wedge. because most likely the underside is the weakest bit

This really shows tombstone is pretty much lacking against wedgebots or flippers even to this day. If i forgot 2 broken wheels he didnot make any dmg to stinger

C'mon now.

Don't quote me on this (I'm in the UK, I only follow what I can of the USA fights on KZread :( ) but I think it's a reference to Original Sin because it's got a three-piece wedge or something - Original Sin also has something like 'I can has red tires?' on it as well which I think is again a reference to Sewer Snake :)

I fucking love this sport. I can't believe Robot Wars was cancelled. It was the best hosted(Craig Charles),best layout, best organized and had the greatest fighters. It was perfect. Can you imagine if it was on today? With todays robots and technology? It would be AMAZING!!! They need to bring back a robot fighting show so these new bots can have some professional camera work and funding.

Actually that wedge/plow is AR400 (similar to steel used in rifle target ) an abrasion and impact resistant steel.

The white sparks you saw were from my top plate and top lifter are skinned in Ti. plate.

+mattmaxsr I feel like sewer snake is the bane of spinners, whether full body (megabyte), horizontal (last rites/tombstone {though you and Ray trade wins often}), and possibly vertical, but I don't have enough info yet. This is also the first match I've seen where a flamethrower was powerful enough to cause a knockout. My main question though. HOW do you get so much AGILITY + POWER + DURABILITY out of what seems to be a 6 wheel tank drive? not even original sins drive train is as good at taking damage without losing effectiveness as yours.

I think havind wheels outside your robot give more manoeuvrability. Also, did sewer snake use all six motors.

The flame was nice here but Ray had internal shorts happening not just flame damage. OS and SS use the same drive motors but not sure if the same gear ratio?! Our mobility is a little more robust with the center wheels always pushing even if we loose corner tires. Where as OS looses a corner tire he may now be dragging that corner!

"I can has" This was a really cool build and I admired it, until I noticed that somebody thought it would be cute to apply a meme sticker to the back of it. If you're working with more then two people in your group, its safe to tell whoever applied the label to kindly refrain from doing any cosmetic additions, because they will inevitably create embarrassing displays.
