What makes this easy is the single hole in the throat plate. Today's electronic sewing machines have an opening for a zig zag foot which pulls down the material. I like the idea of going back to a single needle throat plate.

I have a modern machine and it came with a single hole in the throat plate as well as the wider one. This looks easy because the person has done this many,many times before. I’ve never thought of pressing a garment like this after cutting it out.
