Sew Sunday 5/26/24 Easy Layercake + Panel Quilt Pattern ❤️
In today's video I put together an Easy Layercake + Panel Quilt.
Needed
1- Panel
1- 42 Piece Layercake
First Cut your Panel into Squares as seen in Video. I got 4- 7.5" squares and 4- 9.5" squares.
I replaced 4- 10" Squares for my 4 Smaller Panel Squares and attached 4 of the 2.5" x 7.5" and 2.5" x 10" rectangles
Then from Layercake
Cut off 2.5" x 10" rectangles
Turn rest of stack and
cut off 2.5" x 7.5" rectangles
Then take your leftover 7.5" and mix up as seen in Video.
Sew on the 7.5" x 2.5" to the 7.5" x 7.5" Square
Then turn and sew on to the other side the 2.5" x 10" rectangle.
Press and trim off extra 1/2"
Blocks should be 9.5" Square
Lay out in a 6 across x 7 down layout
and sew it up.
Finished Top is about 55" X 64"

I worked like that when I was your age but now at 94 I just don’t have the stamina but it sure exasperates me that I can’t do what I used to.I really enjoy sewing and Machine embroider. I am running out of folks to give my quilts to.

Just completed a full size Underground Railroad and now I am doing a full size Dresden Plate. Have never stopped sewing, just slowed down

Hello!!! Your quilt is absolutely adorable!!! Scott--you did a great job picking the fabrics out and Tiffany--you did a great job of stitching it all together!! Love it! I have a 35 yo Bernina and it likes Connecting Threads the best, I have Superior but it kept breaking. So it is Connecting Threads from now on.

@@TiffanysQuiltingLife It is so much more affordable than aurifil thread and my machines love it also. You can get 2 connecting threads for the price of 1 aurifil thread.

Is there a way to get a small warp out of your cutting mat? Any ideas. Nancy LaVenture

Wash it, then lay it out somewhere flat in the sun to get it flat. May take a few days of the heat to flatten. 😊
One of my cats, Thistle (a boy) meows when in his litter box. My tuxedo cat Snuggles used to lick and chew my hair when I lay in my bed at night.
