I feel so bad for Snape, firstly his whole childhood was practically horrible and his only friend and person he loved was Lily. What made it worse was that Lily ended up with James instead of him (i love Jily btw) and that most definitely hurt him a lot since James bullied the hell out of him. God, the devastation when she was killed too only leaving behind Harry. Honestly the Patronus scene was so well done by the producers and it really showed how Snape still loved Lily and deep down he cared about Harry.

lunavibintho you’re right about beating voldemort. but i wouldn’t consider him grey. literally all the good he did had selfish intentions. plus, all the bad stuff he did outweighs the good. if they were a bit balanced i would probably consider him grey.

Looking back, Lily was probably the only person he ever loved or had a connection with. They never mentioned him having friends in school, his parents fought, he favored but didn't seem to be close or fatherly with his house students, the other teachers were strictly professional, the death eaters were fake allies and dumbledore was his boss and he guarded but despised Harry for years. So, Snape went his entire life with Lily being the only person he ever cared about and he never became more than friends with her.

I love movie Snape he is more symphatetic and expressive here and in saying "Always" he means both love for both Lily and Harry plus Rickman is the GOAT.

It's the zoom on his face and surprised sound effect when he goes to push Ron's head that does it for me everytime

"Obviously" is an icon who deserves respect In all seriousness though, Snape should have whacked Umbridge's head off instead of hitting Ron

I unironically fully respect Snape's treatment of the situation in the 3rd year's DATDA lesson when he asks everyone if they know the difference between an Animagus and a Werewolf. He knows that Hermione knows the answer, because it's Hermione, of course she does. Hermione not knowing the answer would be cause for celebration. While he doesn't state it specifically, he's expressing disappointment at the rest of the class for not knowing. He doesn't let the person who knows everything answer the question because that doesn't show any growth or development for anyone else in the class. It's a similar situation to him seemingly bullying Harry in his very first scene with the potions questions he doesn't know. By the way Hermione shoots her hand in the air, he knows instantly that she could answer the question in less than a second, but it's important to him that he assesses the knowledge of someone who might not know the answer. If Harry had answered the questions successfully, Snape would have been surprised and impressed. He probably would have been too prideful and reserved to complement Harry openly, but he's trying to get a sense of how much like his father he is. Is he going to be the kind of person to get by on popularity and fame, or is he going to be a formidable wizard by honing his craft with discipline? In the books, they do an exam where the task is to brew a potion, and Harry presents his potion to Snape at the end and Snape seems to be way too harsh on Harry when he tells him he's missed an ingredient. He gives him a Fail and disapparates his potion. It might seem overly harsh, but that's more to do with Snape's persona rather than his practice as a teacher. Professor Mcgonagall is essentially the refined Snape, in that she doesn't let her students make excuses or cut corners or take half-measures when it comes to their education, but she's a lot clearer on this and she has that nicer side that makes you feel like she wants you to succeed.

Just realized that Harry's signature spell was learned from Snape.

@@satvikp3186 I knew there was going to be a plot twist about snape so I was really sad that he died before that Harry saw those memories. Dumbledore had asked snape to tell them to Harry so snape must have decided to finally tell the truth to Harry but that maniac Voldemort had to kill snape. 😒 I don't like cursed child and don't consider it cannon but at least we got to know what snape thought about albus SEVERUS potter

I lost it when he pulls his sleeves to shove Ron and Harry everytime i watched that scene,he's so extra😂😂😂
