Progress? What "progress"? The discourse is still exactly the same and absolutely NOTHING changed - the world is fine. Not a single one of the apocalyptic events she was talking about ever materialized. Not even remotely. We are not even moving in that direction. Every single prediction by alarmists has been wrong. Not just over the last 50 years. Pretty much since the beginning of history. Alarmists have always been scammers who tried to gain money and power by instilling fear. The climate alarmists are exactly the same. I was around a lot longer than you. Winters are still cold, summers are still hot. The world is getting greener. That's the only noticeable change.

I came here for our Oral Communication subject and thought that I'll be bored from watching. But I seriously almost teared up while hearing her words 'cause they were very on point and it's just sad that no changes have been made up to this day, still money over everything.

Damn. This made me nearly cry. Happy Earth Day everyone.

I was a kid around this time living in Florida and was scared into believing we would be underwater by the year 2000 and the ozone layer would be totally destroyed. They just keep moving the goal posts when their doomsday scenarios never pan out.

It's incredible to see a 12-year-old girl concerned about the future world and emphasizing the importance of nature, including animals, and how we humans are destroying our own planet. To be honest, I never considered that when I was her age, which is a shame, While she is already raising awareness of environmental destruction and persuading her audience to consider the consequences of our leaders' decisions. She is truly an amazing young lady for displaying such bravery at such a young age. But, even after 28 years, I don't think there have been many changes, and unfortunately, things have gotten worse.

Strong Speach In 2020 / 2021 And Yes Nothing Changed! We Are Doing The Best What We Can!

This is still the strongest speech by a child at the UN.

I love that speech and its so terrible we at humans cant coexist with nature and respect the source which gives us our food and air.

Everything she said was absolute garbage - not one true word! She lives happily with her father's immense wealth and her kids in a world where the climate is just perfectly fine on a greening planet!

Oh sorry how did I get here, I was looking for the most recent UN speech of a child which predicts the end of the world due to climate change and stuff , the 2019 edition.

I watch this video 24 years after her speech and the world is still the same :(( I'm really confused... Should I and my friends quit our dreams and passions to try solving the environment problems? Hah, adults, that's our question after seeing the result of your actions. You cause it, and your children have to dismiss their future plan just to find a way to fix the "holes" of this world, or they will die. The world can be destroyed in 10 years, 5 years, 3 months, or even tomorrow. Thank you so much, it's moving but now I have very little time to find a solution of your interesting "gift". Anyway, it's not the end of the world.

This. This is a masterpiece. I'm so amazed at how a young teen can even think about this. I'm currently not far off of her age at that time and yet I still can't be as wise. We all need to realize just how very important this is, the more generations to come the more impact they will get. No one can stop it unless our generation, right now do something about it..
