Answers to FAQ’s Anal Glads I clean the anal glands at the owners request. It is important that the dog itself express their anal glands. The anal gland is a muscle in the dog’s rectum and the more you manually do it the more you’re teaching the dog not to use it’s muscle. Honestly groomers really shouldn’t express anal glands. If the anal glands are compacted a vet should be doing it but if your dog is having issues with anal glands you should add fiber to the diet. Music Unfortunately I can’t use the complete shop noise because we play music in the background that I can get copy written for so I have to drown out that music with something or no sounds at all. If I put in background music I can leave a little shop noise in. So, I will always add music unless it is not necessary to do so. “Roughness” During the bath I speed up the time to trim the video shorter in length so, things may seem “rougher” than they actually are because what you’re watching is a bit distorted. Also, when you hear me firm with a dog it is to train them for safety reason so they do not get seriously injured now or in future grooming appointments. Scissors & Matting I didn’t use scissors because they are way more dangerous than clippers. Clippers I can pull away quickly but shears are very sharp so if the dog moves I could’ve cut him/her really bad. Groomers are actually taught never to use shears to cut out a mat because it’s so dangerous. I’ve seen so many instances where people (owners and groomers) have cut dogs bad because they were trying to cut the mat out quick and actually cut the dog. Voiceovers Voiceovers go hand in hand with the music. My viewers like to know what is going on and what tools I am using and why. We also like to discuss topics related to dogs so I will talk about that in my voiceovers. I will always do voiceovers unless it is not necessary to do so. Video Angles I switch up my angles so that the majority gets a view they like. If you’re looking for a head mounted view that is typically Wednesdays or point of view could be Mondays or Fridays. Stationary camera view is either Mondays or Fridays Coddling Dogs/Puppies I don’t coddle dogs during grooming because grooming is a serious matter dealing with sharp tools that can injure a dog greatly. If a dog or puppy is throwing a tantrum I will not stop to hold or comfort the dog because they don’t understand like we do. They consider that rewarding. So, by me “comforting” them during a tantrum or spastic moment, it is actually backfiring and training them that if they act up the groomer will stop and they will get what they want. Which is how dogs end up getting hurt during grooming and hating it. So, play time is for before or after grooming and never during. Assumptions This final one is not a question but more of an assumption some people have. Some people assume, because I didn’t put it in the video, it didn’t happen. Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. As groomers and editors, we cut out a lot of “unnecessary” content so what you are watching is NOT actually how the day went. So, if you have a question of whether or not something happened during the process that is NOT in this pinned comment, please feel free to ASK and NOT ASSUME. Shampoo/Conditioning I do NOT use a lot of shampoo. The bottles that I use are mixing bottles and are predominantly water. I thoroughly wet the coat and scrub them really well which creates the nice lather so they are actually clean when I am finished. Ears Yes I clean and pluck ears but only when necessary. If a dog has clean ears, there is no need. If a dog has matted ears and matted hair in the ear canal, I won’t pluck the ears if I have to shave the ears down to avoid hematomas. Yes I put cotton balls in the ears for certain dogs who are prone to ear infections and I use happy hoodies for senior dogs or noise sensitive dogs. If you ask me something that is in this section, I will respond, refer to the pinned comment. @@cc8368 I just learned this fact and want to get the word out. I am picking up my Yorkie fur baby early this week, and he is appropriately getting a harness. Breeders even pet stores should let it be known Yorkies must have a harness not a collar around their neck.

That is one of the CUTEST LITTLE TINY BABY DOGGIES I HAVE EVER SEEN. Even as he almost got launched into a new dimension with the hose nozzle, and then again with the high velocity dryer, he was SO sweet to watch and your care and love was notable ❤❤

Awe that little furbaby is adorable and I think you did a great job with his eye..I love how easy and loving you were with the precious furbaby..I heard you mention there was a odor coming from the eye, I believe it might have become infected which if not treated could cause bigger problems for the dog..I hope the owner takes him to see his Veterinarian very soon before the infection gets worse..God Bless you 😊

Please share with your customer, that drinking purified water for my Havanese has completely stopped the runny eyes problem. It is simply the type of purifier that attaches to your water faucet. Amazing difference!!!

"She's going thru a lot" isn't an excuse. I was in a head on car accident and got pretty banged up and still struggle w/neurological problems BUT I to care for my cats no matter what. First time watching. Rotating music would be good.

@@chainamarie03 the reason I said she’s going through a lot is because I didn’t want to go into detail about her health issues but she’s in the hospital and hasn’t been out. He is with her elderly father. Everyone’s circumstances are not the same. So tho you were able to care for your pets some people aren’t. All I try and say is understanding others situation because you never know when you can land in the same situation. Definitely not trying to downplay your situation btw. An accident is serious just saying you never know what someone is going through. Thank you for tuning in. I am definitely rotating the music now

Nice job and good for you sticking up for the owner. They were taking care of him bringing him there to fix the problem!! The dog obviously gets groomed. So adorable! I want one. No one ever mentions how much money these vets charge either. It’s a tough economy right now.

Yes! I definitely agree with that. Sometimes, home remedies can be just as effective as vet options. Most of the time, home remedies work better and actually cure the issue instead of a temporary fix

He is so cute. I had a 7ish lb male Yorkie named Buster, he too had allergies. We used to wash his face daily in the morning. Just like you said. He actually would ask for his eyes to get cleaned, after a few times. Love the Jazz music.❤

I have seen so many dog groomers and have always missed someone who would talk to the dogs while they were being groomed. And there you were! I love it, please keep it up. You say the dogs don't understand what you say. No, but they can hear your tone of voice and understand it that way. See the dog pays close attention to what you say and it calms him down. There is always something a dog does not like to have fixed. The paws, the ears, the face or the butt. But you are great at making it calm down. @@judithtrunks3864 because if he flinched or moves an inch I could cut his eye ball or eye lid. Now does that sound kind? You never use scissors to cut mats or gunk caked up!! Especially if it’s that close to the eye or skin. That can cause serious injuries. That’s why we tell owners not to do that at home. It’s about being safe not quick. Maybe you should ask as opposed to assuming next time 🙃

Dogs don't understand words but they do understand tone of voice. I love dogs but I'm generally a fan of Yorkies. I would take Ashi home in a second. He'a so sweet. You could tell he was so happy when you finished his eyes and picked him up.

I have to add I have a toy poodle that is 14years old and he has that problem. I put hot compresses on for 5minutes then put Sytane drops in about 2 every day. Although his eyes never got that bad. It was very hard to watch Lorilaro6

Love how you care! My daughter has a dog with same problem. If you take a q-tip and put some vasoline on that black crude, after a few minutes it come off pretty easy. A vet told us, and it’s a game changer. Don’t get any of that under your nails! Lol!!!! Bless you ❤

My daughters dog has dry eye. Has to use prescription eye drops. It’s a whiteish gunk that pools in the eye before it turns dark. Hope this helps the owner. I just happened to see your video, new subscriber from Florida! I have three yorkies, 4#,7#,14#.

To be honest, I appreciate you for caring of the safety of the pet first. I love that. But in actuality a lot of people do not think like you. I would love if they did but they don’t. Some people truly care about the visual for them rather than me working in the pet. So, for Oshy, Oshy is very wobbly with his back legs and moves around the table a lot to get away from being groomed. If I take my attention off of home to move the camera he can fall off the table on to the floor or hang himself with the loop. The best way to predict a dogs movement is to keep my hand on him or eyes on him. So when my memory card for my head mounted camera is full I’ll use my phone so y’all can still get content. Thank you so much!! I truly appreciate it and you as a supporter. I really do love to hear what you all have to say. I do love what I do and it’s a great job to have 🙏🏾

I just found your channel. This poor baby. I too am elderly with many health problems. I have a 3 lb yorkie and a 5 lb yorkie poo. I make it a habit to wash both my babies faces in the morning when I wash mine. I wash my eyes with Johnson and Johnson s baby shampoo because I have eye allergies. I use it on my fur babies also. Works for all of us. 🙂

😊 Hi I am new to this show. I like the way you wash and treat the pet. The mini Yorkie 8/17/2023 I could hear you when you talk to the pet. It made me enjoy the seen more when I could hear you interact wit the dog in real time as it was happening. My Maltese is named snowball, really smart. He does understand people. Listens to commands. After watching you groom Teddy the Angry Shih Tzu 😅 (Shih Tzu owner and lover here) and now this good boy w his poor matted eye, I have to say you are simply amazing! I use conditioner to get the crust off my dogs eyes . It works well and I know it doesn't sting the eyes cause I also use it on myself to remove eye makeup!

This happened to me when I left my pup with a friend for a weekend. Have to clean his eyes every day otherwise it gets like this. I also find only giving filtered water really helps reduce to eye goop and looking at switching their food. You did an amazing job with this sweet pup!

i love how you're talking to him. i see so many groomers who treat their clients like a piece of meat ~ for clarification, it's not just that you're talking to him, it's how you're treating his reactions as actual, valid feelings. which is what they are
