Never wear socks during Tinikling especially if the performance is in a basketball floor. Luckly the dance is just basic.

It's been known in the United States since at least the mid-1970s; I learned it as part of our Physical Education class in elementary school.

Don’t feel bad. The dance still looks best when it’s done by your culture. We were doing it in Abilene,Texas in the early 60s. Our school was culturally diverse because we were part of Dyess Air Force Base. Very bad idea to wear socks

I graduated my studies from High School to College as a Dance troupe scholar, I’m proud to say that other nations recognize this dance as this is one of the many “Pilipino skill folk dances” that we have. It’s not easy congratulations to these students for their patience to be able to learn the steps of Tinikling. Good grades for these kids!

Yes, sadly they are not correctly tapping in 3/4 time rhythm, but rather in 2/4 and it ends up sounding like "we will rock you" But other than that, they did a wonderfully committed and focused job

Very cool to see Filipino culture catching on, but I wouldn't recommend socks on a gym floor during what is a very fast paced dance. Would be safer if they kept their shoes on.

Very good but, must not be danced with socks unless the socks have rubber grip underneath.

Here in Philippines, if you look down at the floor, your final score would be deducted. Well, that depends if your PE Teacher is too strict

Their doing it wrong 1.They are not using barefoot they are using socks 2.They are not continuing the dance they stop after they go to the edge 3. It must be hardcore 4. AND They are looking at the floor 5. Some of them have mistakes 6. The dance isn't good enough and its not proper 7. The bamboo beats is wrong

at first i honestly thought 'oh cute, even foreigners are doing our traditional dance now', but really? Y'all could have at least TRIED to respect our culture and do it right. This sucks a little, not gonna lie. No hate to the kids, they don't know what they're doing, but whoever thought this was a good idea needs to think harder. A lot was done incorrectly; the beat, the outfits, the music????? You shouldn't mess around with culture like this. It's all fun and smiles, but only when you do it correctly.... honestly, this feels mildly disrespectful...

  • @sarahmjoya

Wait a minute this isn’t how you do tinikling. In The real dance, you always move your legs and feet even when outside the poles. And that’s not the traditional music for tinikling
