Seventh Circle Audio A12 preamp build
Here's a brief video of my process for building a microphone preamp kit from Seventh Circle Audio. I find it very rewarding to use studio equipment that I've made myself.
This is a great kit for intermediate to advanced DIY folks.
The mic preamp sounds really nice. You'll notice I have the gain cranked to 65dB for the lapel mic I was using to record my voice for this video. I ended up having to remove some hum from the recordings, but this was a problem with the mic, not the preamp. So if you hear some artifacts in the audio, just note that they are from the noise reduction process (Waves Z Noise), not the preamp!
