Seventeen is known as Self Producing Idols, almost all of their songs are produced by their co-member Woozi, swear! He is a genius. Theyre 13 members but they are divided into 3 units- Vocals, Hiphop and Performance ☺️ Theyre one of the funniest group and for their dancing- 13 members but the synchronization are Chef's kiss!

they're actually called the "self producing idols" because they write, compose, and choreograph. The shorter guy one that has blonde hair is the producer of the group and makes 99% of their songs, he also plays A LOT of instruments, so I'm so proud seeing how you like the songs in the killing voice cause he is the one who produced them

Seventeen is known to have some of the best and fairesg line distribution in Kpop. It helps that Woozi, one of the members and the main composer and producer behind all of their music, knows each member's strengths very well and tailors the songs to make their voices shine. The members have also worked very hard to improve their singing and range so that Woozi can use their voices anywhere he wishes.

He was in the US until he was 5 and then moved to Korea but his English is so good because he’s half American and his mom speaks English to him.

The small blonde is Woozi, he writes and produces most of Seventeens material, and while he is not the only member who plays a musical instrument, he plays: clarinet, piano, recorder, flute, guitar and drums. Joshua plays guitar and Jun is a classically trained pianist [he is really good]. Some Other members do play, but I forget which ones.

Thanks for reacting! Seventeen's songs are almost entirely written and produced by Woozi (the blond one in the middle wearing a white shirt), who was the youngest member of the korea music copyright association and is credited as the lead composer in 150+ songs now. Their other members, especially the Hiphop unit (S.coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon) also partake in writing and composing. For line distribution, every member gets at least one or two and the rest are divided to suit the song. (I won't necessarily say they always have the fairest, but definitely a distribution that works the best for each song). I think most members know their way around a keyboard while Woozi, Joshua (and maybe DK?) also play guitar. Woozi also plays the clarinet!

you might be surprised but despite having 13 members, they're one, if not most, the few groups that has equal line distributions. given that they're gonna get 16 seconds or lower in each song. however, they have their own units (hiphop, performance and vocal) which also produce their own songs. they can show their own colors here without having to worry about "having few lines." yes, they are active in writing their own songs. they're known for being the best self-produced group, meaning they're very hands on and very critical of their releases. they choreograph their own dances as well with the help of their teachers and choreographers. they can play instruments like piano, guitar, electric guitar, bass, acoustic, clarinet and more, especially jun, mingyu, joshua, vernon and of course, woozi. 18:16 is an american. he's joshua from california. the one you said you had great rapping voice is vernon was born in new york but he grew up in korea. their foreign line consists of two american and two chinese. i'm surprised you know about the never ending aju nice. yeah, they always come back for that song. it's fun. thank you so much for reacting to svt and for your honest reactions! looking forward to see more of svt on your channel!

I have been watching several reaction videos of the Seventeen's Killing Voice. Most of them focus on each member or a particular member that they like the most. Some other focus on the voice colour and singing skills. I like them all, however, I like yours the most since you discussed mostly about the music, build up, instruments, and the melody. That gives me different perspective about this boy group that I've just recently found too. I am one of Seventeen's new fan. I was too, very surprised the first time I listened to their songs. I found each songs to be unique, different from one to another, but there's some sense of familiarity be it from their other songs or the songs that I used to listen growing up, which makes their music more enjoyable. I agree with most of the comments here, Seventeen wins with their music, melody and performances. Yet, for me the best that they do is the lyrics. The lyrics of their songs tend to be very relatable, youthful, yet metaphorical and poetic, especially the more ballady ones. Thank you for doing this reaction video. I enjoyed it a lot ❤❤

Thank you very much. Being a musician myself and having played the guitar and singing to it for 40 years now I tend to look at the music and what happens in a song and if there are guitars for instance. Vocal wise I like to hear male voices in a mid range because that is where I sing myself the most and that is where I can relate and feel the singer the best.

Thank you for reacting to Seventeen and appreciating their music. None of the members are related to each other by blood but they've been together as a group for quite a few years (8 years) and trained together before debut a few years as well (2 to 6 years varying per member). I'm very biased but they're my home, my comfort music, my hype people and my strength. Each member might not seem to be highlighted but they come up with unit songs (just as brilliant with a different flavor) to make others members' strengths shine and a few of them have released duets, solos and collaborations with other artists. I hope you listen to more of their music because what you just heard is just a snippet of their genius and talents. What makes them truly unique other than having that many members and the synchronized dancing machines that they are is the variety of opinions and musical preferences each member has that gets filtered into their music. Each member has to agree that the music they plan to release as a group represents the group before/after (not sure) it goes to the company for approval. That's why they have confidence in their music when it is released. Woozi (one of Seventeen members) is one of the producers of their music with Bumzu (not a member but writes, arranges and composes a lot of their music with Woozi) both and all members have crazy high standards. They don't tend to follow trends and their message is typically for the fans but the messages they convey tend to be relevant and very Seventeen. They've become more popular in Korea because of their variety content Going Seventeen, a weekly show that mostly shows how entertaining their dynamics are as a goup in different settings, sometimes it caters to Korean humor (they do parodies of current or previous Korean variety shows and/or personalities), sometimes it shows how witty, competitive and hilarious they generally are (having that many members with the varying personalities is a recipe for very entertaining chaos).

hello!!!! this is my first video of yours i'm seeing because seventeen content so apologies for coming right out the gate with a huuuuuge comment: as everyone has already said, seventeen are known as THE self-producing idols, as all members have writing credits and most also have composing credits on their own songs. they have been making their own music since before they debuted. the short blond is woozi and he is their main producer who writes and composes 99% of their music, and in 2021 was the youngest ever to win asia artist awards' "best producer" award! he has also produced songs for other groups and is widely regarded as a genius many members can play an instrument to some degree: woozi guitar, drums, clarinet, piano, and recorder. jun piano. joshua guitar and ukulele. (all mentioned previous are high level/play masterfully). seungkwan piano. dk, mingyu, and wonwoo guitar. jeonghan bass and casually learning piano. s.coups casually learning piano. miscellaneous stuff i love to tell people discovering svt for the first time: seventeen's 2023 mini album "FML" is the best-selling korean album in history with over 6M global sales! in 2023 alone so far they have sold 11M albums worldwide, and their upcoming album releasing oct 23 is set to push them over 15M units sold in a single year! they are recipients of multiple prestigious awards including "best male group", "best dance performance male group", and "artist of the year", to name just a few thank you for reacting to seventeen!! i'm really glad you enjoyed the music you've heard from them so far and i'm hoping for more reactions in the future hehe ❤️

Also thank you for pointing out how good Joshua is (the head voice guy). DK and Seunkwan - probably spelled it wrong - are the 2 main vocals and have amazing voices but the other 3 members of the vocal team are also top notch and would be main vocals in other KPop groups.

Woozi (the writer/producer of all their songs) recently said that the company picks who sings which lines, so he doesn't have to deal with that pressure. And yes, every member sings on their songs. It's in the sub-units (Hip-Hop, Performance and Vocal) that the members get more lines and a time to shine. As to whether any members play instruments, YES. And Woozi shines the most...drums, guitar, bass, keyboards/piano, and he's classically trained on the clarinet. Jun (one of the two Chinese line) is a concert pianist. Joshua (one of the two American/Korean line) plays guitar. They all can play at least something...even if they're not that great at it. Besides, I consider my voice an instrument; and they all rock that!!!

So far I haven't seen any other comment mentioning what you say about them bringing old school sounds into their songs. Woozi, the main producer, is a big fan of Bruno Mars so I guess that could be one reason he loves and fequently uses some of that sound; he also loves anime and has said before that likes the music, which explains why they have several songs that have those anime vibes. They have very good ballads too, mostly from their vocal unit, and in those songs they also have a very old school sound, some are just like 90's pure R&B, some sound a bit 80's or early 2000s. I guess that's why much of their music feels really nostalgic. The songs for every album are chosen by consensus of the members and company, so their individual tastes are reflected on the songs some of them compose or the ones they work on for every separate unit. Many of them also love anime, some like rock, pop punk, some love old ballads, some like bright pop, others prefer hip hop, and you can see that in the choices they make for their b sides, unit songs and solos.

13 members in Seventeen. Not quite 5000.😉 You seem like you know about music. What a delight to watch someone new react to Seventeen for the first time. At 12:05 you picked out Joshua (1 of 2 from USA) (There are also 2 members from China.) The rest are Korean. There are no siblings. Seventeen debuted in 2015 and most were together in training 3-4 years before that. So they know each other well and are very committed to each other, good music----- which they mostly create themselves, amazing dance (you've no idea--yet), and their fans, Carats. 💎 Please react to more Seventeen. I suggest: Home;Run World Dream Rock w/you Left & Right Thanks Pretty U Super for a small sampling. The corresponding dance practices are fun too. Then if you want to dive deeper there's a super long guide and much more great music and dance. Thank you for your reaction.

Thank you, I'll take a closer look for sure. And yes I have been playing the guitar and singing since I was 11 ... That was 41 years ago. I've got my share of playing live either in bands or solo... so yea, I've got a bit of an insight in instruments and singing.

In korea, when a Kpop group got the first place for the first time on a Music show- It's considered as an important career in K music industry- , in many cases, there's a reason by their previous release was a hit so they got much bigger fan base but not got a first place at then, but after that their next release became on the first place for the first time. it's a common case. As far as I remember as a Korean, "Mansae" was a huge hit in the K-pop scene, and the next release, "Pretty U," won its first No 1. 7:33 He produces the most of their songs. and they can paly instrumentals. and also most of them write musics

Just subbed for your Seventeen reaction. I hope you watch their dance practice studios. I promise you, NONE of the other groups as a whole can hold a candle to Seventeen's (SVT)'s dance skills (imagine like 13 J-hopes). None of them! I promise you, they will knock your socks off. Btw, I really enjoyed your musical ear and analysis of the snippets of the songs you heard on the killing voice. I'm here for more of that too! ❤ thank you.

Thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed it. I'll definitely look into their music a bit more and see where it takes me. Being a musician myself (guitar and singing) I tend to listen to instrumentation and little things like that, how effects were added and so on. But I have to say that I am honest too and won't sugarcoat things if I don't like them. I do receive my share of doubt and hate for that but I'm not the guy who says yes and great and awesome to everything he reacts to just to please every viewer. I watched the BTOB killing voice and said I don't like Changsub's voice.... my god, the backlash... but yea, thats life, some ppl like carrots some don't ... Thanks for being here, I really appreciate that!

@@NeonReactionsPierrethe thing is it's preference.. if you don't like someone's voice or one song out of 4 varieties, guess it happens. I don't immediately like all of SEVENTEEN's songs either. But there's always, ALWAYS some good in each of them. N when reactors react to things n say it's bad.. repeatedly n for all songs etc, that's when my mind questions, why do they even react if they don't like it? As long as one is able to find a good thing or just not react if they don't like a team's music it's fine for me I guess.. hope it makes sense. (Btw, this is certainly not against you, this is my first time coming to your channel, being a carat, had to come for SEVENTEEN's music spreading happiness 😀. )

Thank you very much. You are absolutely correct and it is nice to have you here. The guys from Seventeen are great singers and work together flawlessly. I will definitely listen to more of their songs and try to find out more about them. This was my first look into their music and one singer out of nine was not my thing in like five of the songs.... I would be very narrow minded to say they are not good. As I said in the previous answer here - I am a musician myself and like to look at a song from various points. I've sung with others, I've sung in groups and solo ... so I appreciate the talent of actually sounding really good together and actually performing together. Voices have to be different to make a nice complete harmonic painting... and some voices - to me - are exactly that - a part of the group and not a voice I would like as a solo.

As an EXO-LxCarat, I'm really happy you like both SEVENTEEN and EXO's killing voice. When you points out some facts like does any one of them play instruments, do they write their own songs or Joshua might grow up in US, I was nodding like crazy lol. Please check their songs. All songs are really great and give a different vibe from other groups. Yes, Woozi ( the one with blonde hair and the shortest) is a great producer, song writer, singer, dancer, idol.

SEVENTEEN are the perfect example of self producing idols. They do everything themselves, even some of their music videos. I think that was the main reason HYBE decided to acquire their company years ago, because they love artists that can produce themselves and be successful at it at the same time. I recommend you to watch these music videos: SUPER Getting Closer Fear HOT HIT Home;Run Cheers Don't Wanna Cry

5:45 Don't worry, Seventeen is the best at dividing the lines so that everyone gets their rights 7:27 All their songs have been produced by them since their debut to this day. They are actually called a production group because they were the first to produce their own songs. There is also Woozi, who can play five instruments, Joshua, Dino, Jun, and many other members. They also choreograph their own dances themselves 11:28 Everyone said exactly the same thing, and it's because the person who produced the song is Woozi and he made it similar to anime songs because he likes to watch them

5:48 to answer your question about how they divide lines .. you wont believe how much each of them makes their touch even with one line !!!! Even if 1 member is missing you can feel cuz they their voices are different from rappers to vocalists ( there are unit songs : vocal unit / hiphop unit / performance unit ) And yess all the songs are written by woozi their member . They re called self producing idols cuz they do everything on their own from lyrics writing to choreography
