It's big news to me when there's a mashup of songs I love. It's even more exciting when the mashup is made by a clearly talented individual, who hasn't released anything in a while. There was just one problem. My headphones had broken a few hours before this was uploaded. The warranty was still good (praise the Lord) but it would take time for them to be fixed by the company. My older headphones didn't sound nearly as good, so I knew they wouldn't do justice to a song like this. I would just have to wait patiently. I used my bluetooth speaker to keep up with activity on other music channels I liked, and even saved a few songs for after my headphones could be fixed. However, I saved all of these uploads from this channel for later without even listening to them. I've been an active follower of Arctic Empire ever since TopEDM listed it as his favorite place on KZread to find new music. I completely see why, as the videos here have introduced me many incredible artists which I may not have found otherwise (Nick Gunner among them). And so, I waited two weeks and a day for those headphones to arrive, repaired and refurbished. When they came, last Thursday I think, this was the first song I played on them. The last time my musical standards were set this high, "Get Your Wish" by Porter Robinson was premiering. The artist had been long absent in both situations, but in this case I hadn't heard anything on good headphones in about half a month. I wasn't disappointed at all. My huge expectations were met, and my anticipation was fulfilled. I wasn't even surprised, because there's something packed into nearly every upload here, and I'm not referring to the quality of the songs. While that's obviously the most important thing, there's something else this channel has, which no other channel I've seen can compare to. Monstercat has fans who are great at ranking, mashing, and categorizing their music. Proximity really can find your favorite music you haven't heard yet. The "Nations" make a great team. NCS is free to use. But Arctic Empire has uncanny, consistent, near-perfect taste. Here, I don't have to sort through songs I don't like or kinda like. If "Two Ways" enjoyed the song enough to upload it, then I'm certain I'll enjoy the song enough to save it. Maybe that's why TopEDM saw you as #1 in his book: your ear for a good song is impeccable. Thank you for making me want to wait. Thank you for making it worth the wait. Thank you for making this channel. ❤
