Being a D.A supporter, I find that they are turning a blind eye to the vulnerable and poor who live in sqatter camps like dogs, would any of the governing bodies spend a night in a shack? I don't think so, will they ever even attempt to do away with these horrid camps? No, it's out of sight, out of mind, money would rather be spent on impressing the tourists, who generate millions, sorry to say, but a serious opposition is needed to tackle these ungodly issues. Most of the people in these so called " townships have migrated into the Cape due to mismanagement and poverty in the rural eastern cape regions or they are undocumented migrants from countries to the north. Very few are decendants of communities historically resident in and around Capetown. In general population growth has been exponential as Capetown is seeing the downside of its economic success when other regions in South Africa are failing. One could ask the question. Who is living in these conditions and why is it that young people come into the Cape and are prepared to endure Cape winters rather than remaining in their previous homes safe and dry? They prefer to suffer in the hopes of a job and a hot dinner rather than to starve in their traditional homes.

These people are here by their own choices. They move in from other provinces where they have voted in corrupt governments to Cape Town and then build houses illegally on unsuitable land that is prone to flooding. I feel sorry for them.

It really doesn’t, they’re living in make-shift shacks and 13% of the South African population lives like this, plus half of SA lives under their poverty line. Stop being petulant and trying to sow division, everyone knows the quality of life is higher in the US overall vs. South Africa which is facing failed state status by 2030 if things don’t drastically change there

Where does these people even come from? Who built their houses over there?.. Make a plan for yourself! Lazy!
