Honestly I use a Hudy after a complete tare down method to get back to a baseline. And always nice to set it on track and it goes perfectly straight after rebuild. I have never carried them to track with me though or relied on one for a setup. But I find them useful

As usual spot on, I tell the guys all the time to keep it simple, build a setup for YOU, record it, have fun shredding, and repeat👍🏼

I bought one about 2 years ago as there was a seller from Russia on ebay that made his own and sold them for about $75 shipped. Figured that was a fair price given that all the others were roughly double that. I've used it maybe 10 times or so, and it's been pretty wild how far the numbers will be off sometimes when you put the buggy on it not realizing how out of alignment some things are. Ultimately, these buggies all get so much slop that I'm sure a lot of this is overkill (and according to Tekno's engineer and many others, they drive better with the slop). Even just the slop at the wheel bearings is usually several degrees. The wheel hex that the setup station mounts to will have more slop about the axis of the hex's drive pin. That means you can set the car perfectly on the station, then loosen one wheel nut, spin the wheel hex 90 degrees, and retighten and you'll see different readings for caster/camber/toe.

Hey Adam! Thanks for another great vid. What hole on the rear hub are you running when you have 20 mm exposed turnbuckle?

Inside on the tower and outside on the rear hub.

2:20 nor everyone has the ability to realize their camber isnt even because the rear rotates around easier/quicker when turning one way or the other or even what needs to be adjusted. i just know if my car isnt behaving equal left and right to ask to use someones setup station and figure out whats not even. every time i throw my car on a setup station and tweak it the handling improves

I feel like going off of turnbuckle exposed length is kinda useless. Like, if I adjust akerman then the steering length is going to potentially be wildly different. Same thing withe rear camber. If I adjust my roll center the length of the turnbuckle needs to change. The only way that's useful is if literally nothing else on the car changes. Trying to read the output of a formula from a single input variable is sort of useless... But I don't disagree with your points about why setup stations are a PITA.... And my tire gluing game is so poor it's not even worth bothering to use a camber gauge on the sidewall.... What would be *really* sick is if car manufacturers offered an app. Where you entered your setup and it would tell you all the output variables. Essentially, you fill out a setup sheet, with turnbuckle lengths and akerman positions, camber link positions, eand what shims you have where, and it will approximate everything for you because math. that's the holy Grail.

Appreciate the feedback. This is how I've done it for years and it works well for me. This settings may need to be adjusted slightly if you make other changes, but if you're going off the setting I'm using on the setup sheet it will get you very close.
