This was hands down the best explanation of the difference between setting powder and finishing powder that I've ever heard. And believe me I 've searched because I found it confusing that influencers seemed to use them interchangeably, and I knew they weren't meant to be used that way. 💕💕

Hey Sharalee! This is the only explanation of difference I have heard that makes sense. Thank you so much for explaining. I have dry skin on all parts of my face but with enlarged pores on my nose and chin. I love using the CT setting spray as primer and setting. Love you sweet lady!

What a wonderful addition to my Friday evening! You always come through! I have used the Mary Kay translucent powder for years. Thoughts? Have you tried this? I don’t have oily skin and it appears to work well, however I’m always open to better suggestions that will benefit my skin. I do not use a setting spray. We do live in a very humid area during the summer and I’ve been looking for a better way to keep my look fresh all day. Sent you an idea on Messenger this afternoon. This has been such a great series, I have thoroughly enjoyed it! Do you have a current favorite sunscreen that plays well with the Dior foundation? My long time sunscreen changed the formula, and it makes my foundation cake up horribly and not blend at all. Much like your favorite Aussie hairspray…why can’t they just leave a good thing alone?!?

hello my friend, having an oily skin, the transparent powder is obligatory for me, I currently use laura mercier's powder with her sponge, it leaves a silky finish on the skin and I like it, I'm not too spray On the other hand. Very good weekend sharalee 💛💝💝

Can i use finishing powder first then setting spray after or foe the last process?

I’m confused. Should we be using a setting powder and a finishing powder ? I’ve been noticing in photos my forehead looks a shiny and cheeks a little . My skin’s semi dry . Not too bad tho. Also, do you use these powders before applying blush and bronzer?

Good question! I feel like there is overlap here...Mattifying powders usually fall into the setting powder category as they typically help control oil but both setting and finishing powders can come in a matte finish.😘

I don't use setting spray either.
