    Great video thank you! Just wondering why you ticked the box “exempt from Superannuation”? What does that mean? If we’re wanting to pay an employee super, would we still tick that box?

  • @TallBooks

    @TallBooks

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Claire, for super this is set-up under the pay template section of the employee. Ticking exempt from super only applies to pay items you're setting up that do not attract super, for example overtime.

    Hi Samuel, Thanks for the videos. I've got my head around the payruns etc and that's going well. I do the employee timesheets and then approve for payments. Is it possible to do multiple timesheets (as in all employees for the next week) in one go or is the only way by doing each employee (add timesheet) one at a time?

    Hi Vinny, My pleasure, thanks for the feedback. You'd need to do them individually. If you want to take advantage of scheduling where this is set for every employee and loaded across, then I'd suggest looking at an add-on that feeds into Xero payroll such as Deputy or Tanda.

    @@TallBooks Thanks mate. Yeah my daughter uses Deputy for her work. We have a few apprentices who won't even tell me if they've had a day off (I do my son's books) You can't teach dum as he says!!

    Hello Tony, How to you change/edit the list of "Ássign default leave types"? How do you delete a leave type that has accured leave? Thank you.

    Hi Alana, my name's Sam, not sure where we got Tony from... In Xero, there are two sections for pay items. One is under Settings>Payroll Settings the other is individual and you'd go to Payroll>Employee>Leave and then you have options within the payroll module. For any adjustments I'd recommend completing them through the payroll for auditing purposes and so the reports generate correctly for you. Here's some more info from Xero themselves. help.xero.com/au/Payroll-Employees-LeaveAdjust-AU

    Hi Loleatta, this comes under tracking in Xero. If you google Xero Payroll tracking you'll find a guide. Basically, go to settings and locate tracking, add 'regions' and then enter in the relevant states. Then you can go to Settings>Payroll Settings and choose Regions to be available. Lastly, in each employee file you can set the region they belong to, this will group the wages by region for you.

    Hi, thanks for the video. We have an employee already set up, moving from casual to permanent. I changed it in taxes but when comes to pay template still shows hours but now she is salaried. How to I change this. She started as a casual but now been given full time salary

    No worries, click into their pay template tab then click into the earnings hyperlink they have currently. You should be able to click salary instead of enter rate and then it changes. If you can't see it just remove the current ordinary hours and then add a new and select salary. You can then enter the salary and hours per week.

    Our payroll is set on monthly. Do you need to add pay calendar for each month?

    Hi Greg, yes ensure any pay cycle you follow is added first before setting up the staff. Go to Payroll settings and add the relevant weekly/fortnightly/monthly pay schedules.

    Hi Marley, use the Purchases section for independent contractors, simply enter a bill when received and code it to the relevant contractors expense account.

    I don't see the option 'Payroll" in my menu under the Demo Company (Global), is it because I live in a different region ? Please advise

    Hi Sheikh, that sounds right. Some areas of the world payroll is not included depending on the Xero progress rolling out there. In NZ, AUS we definitely have payroll but can't comment for other places,

    Hi Lee, are you the only user of the file? Most likely you need your access updated to have 'payroll admin' ticked. Check under the top left menu (business name) then settings>users.

    I'm the sole director of my company, is there a way to make a one-off payment at my discretion as opposed to working on a calendar basis?

  • @TallBooks

    @TallBooks

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Alex, you could set-up the pay calendar and just process a single pay entering in 1 in hours and total salary in the rate column. You'd need to adjust manually the PAYG and then it'll be fine. Make sure to get the annual figures from your accountant.

    The video seems good but looks outdated since my Xero doesn't have all the same layout. All my GL codes are entered however I cannot use my bank account as Xero won't properly map it. I'm assuming that 090 isn't a "ban" account. I'd like to see what the account type is so I can work around the limitation of not linking payroll directly to Xero's bank account.

    Not sure what you mean by Xero won't map it. What's the error you're experiencing? This video was recorded years back I will do some refreshers later this year.

    Hi @Varsha this is an Australian tutorial, you'll be able to find an equivalent or similar in the UK version most likely, otherwise refer to online notes.
