I wear my Minnie Mouse ears so the students know when my "ears" are on you can't interrupt me during small group. They also remind me to put my ears on when I forgot lol

Hey! I looove your videos! I am also a first year teacher (2nd grade)

Im a full-time K TA ( soon te be a licensed teacher🎉). In my city each K classroom has a TA. Do you have TAs to assist with instruction and clerical stuff at all? Also, the other day one of the kids randomly licked the head of a boy in front of him. Idk what triggered that! Sometimes its really hard to not crack up at the things they do! To make it harder to not laugh, he said "yes" in a most whats the big deal way! I kept my cool as I explained WHY we dont lick people, but barely. I wanted to laugh so badly.

I like it! Haven’t had any issues with it! The only thing I don’t like is that you can’t cut a ton of papers at a time but thats okay!

Hello! I'm also a kinder teacher in NYC and was wondering if phonics is the only curriculum your school/district gives. Here, I have to follow school/district chosen curriculums for all academic subjects. (We use GoMath, RW & WR, Passport...) It's great to have guidelines but not a lot of room to do some of the things we want/love to do and cover.

+chantal small yup, Phonics is the only curriculum our district provides for us to follow For the rest of the subjects we have a curriculum map with standards that we have to teach each week, and we are free to teach those using whatever resources we want
