Trying to mate, I feel fortnightly videos are more meaningful. We will see how we go. Thanks for sticking around while I adjusted to the new routine!

Thanks for the content. I fell in love with compressiceps/calvus and your site has been a great benefit. I was one day away from moving fry from a homemade cave last month to another tank but unfortunately something got to the fry during the night. I now have another female guarding some eggs in a different cave but I'll probably be on vacation when I need to move them. Overall a great experience knowing my fish are happy and breeding. I'm looking forward to a grow tank full of calvus!

No worries! Glad to hear the videos have been helpful! That is a shame you lost the batch of fry. Be mindful that sometimes calvus/comps will eat their own fry although I have never had that happen with my calvus pairs. Shame about the timing of your holiday but as you have them breeding regularly now you should get more spawning activity again in a month or two. Good luck!

Your Golds & Fucifers are looking AWESOME !!! I love them, and happy you posted a video to show them off. I have 21 Chaitika Golds, 18 FireFin Comps, & 4 Black Calvus in a heavily planted/aquascaped 225 gallon. Fourteen of the Chaitika's were only 1" when I put them in the tank last March having also 6 BW Frontosa and most of my male comps being >3", I wasn't sure they would survive, but they did and are now at the 2" size on a very high protein diet. Most of the Golds have turned more red in color, which I believe is from the black background and african driftwood I have in the tank. But the Golds that are greater than 3" dorsal and tail fins are turning a fluorescent yellowish gold. They look insane !!! I've only lost one Black Calvus on the whole and that was because he ran into a rock while fighting with the other male Calvus. No other losses so far.

Cheers Tommy! Glad you love them mate. Wow you have an awesome sounding collection of fish there! Sorry to hear you lost one of your black calvus but sounds like everything else is going gang busters from the size your fish have put on! Well done!

I got one of these recently, I'm not sure if it's male or female yet but they look good at 1.5 inches or so hopefully a male. I have a 40g with 4 Lelopis, 3 transcriptus,1 rainbow shark, 2 snowball pleco. I love watching them, they are all territorial but they all hold their own well so far.
