How do I set up my child’s lock screen so that she doesn’t have full access to free time but rather only the apps/games that have been downloaded?? I think that’s what you did here but I’m not sure, either way, can’t get it to work for me. Thx!

Thank you.. after browsing through dozens of video, yours was the only one that showed the actual process. Others only show inside FreeTime already scrolling up and down... Quick question, once you load the FreeTime profile and you restart the tablet, it reloads it automatically with the child's profile or do you have to manually go into it again? Also, is it truly "in-apps purchase" proof? - Thank you.

Also, when you reload, it loads a screen that actually has a little circle at the top and the child then can see his or her “icon” image and then they can swipe to open. And it’s pretty easy for them to do.

hello im trying to remove some apps and its showing me network connection is required. its connected to wifi..ive already tried forgetting the network and reconnecing to wifi..and it still wont let me remove contents. what am i doing wrong? id like to remove all non educational things for my kids. and add educational apps...books ect.please help

Yeah, I'll echo what others said about the music being too loud (in comparison to the voice), especially since I'm working on this in the middle of the night and my wife is sleeping, BUT... dude, this is really an excellent tutorial video! Thanks for making and posting it. I bought 3 of these for my oldest grandkids, and this vid helped me to set them up. You're awesome! :-)

I have my profile protected with a password but it still shows up on their tablet. I want my profile removed from their tablet only. Under your account click security and then set your password up there. You can also et a password up under the parental control tab.

My kids tablets have a password on their profiles and on the main prime account. As soon as they touch settings our password is required to open it and once inside it asks for our password again before we can do anything. Set this from inside your main account profile parental controls

I find whatever I try to add to my son's page never shows up there. It wont let him have roblox or other apps. As I've just got mine a few days ago I've got the option just to send it back

Same here. Very limited content on my kids profile page under added content. Have shared content on my profile, reset the table, and deleted and redownloaded apps. No luck. The tablet is registered and on my Amazon account. I have two other tablets with free time and they both work perfect.

I downloaded a few apps on my page for my daughter and they downloaded pretty quickly but when I need to share them when I hit add content it doesn’t say share or anything it goes directly to the actual apps. They are checked off and when I go back to her page they show up but when I click them only gives me the option to download and it just spins nothing is ever downloaded IG even let it sit over night thinking it my internet or to many loading at night and nothing this this is giving me a headache lol

Regular version and made it for kids.

I can't get out of the profile so I can download what I want and set restrictions.

I'm trying to add my own videos, it shows up in the main profilr, but not on the child profile. I saved it to the movies folder.

Go into settings from the main account and under shared content pick the kid profile to want to add the videos to, click add content. It will take you to your library....check off everything you want to give to them.

I have you tube kids via the play store but is there a way to add it to my kid profile?

You tube kids is bad....you may want to read up on it more before giving access.

Yes, it is a little irritating. You have to leave yours. However, you can set it where there’s isshowing first.

Go to the main lock screen and touch the little bubble with the face icon. Then choose the child account.

How do I remove my profile from my kids tablet only? That way they can't get to my profile and browse or play content.

Since your profile is controlling it, you really cannot remove it, but you can password protect it so they cannot get in without a passcode.

I have all 3 kids profiles set up and they each have their own tablets, but all of the shared content will not come in as its set for each kid. Is it just a storage issue? If so, why cant i get the apps onto the 16gb sd card that i installed on tablet 1 as a trial?

Great question. The thing is that not everything can be stored on the card. It’s their controls.

@@n3rdch1c but it's not bringing ANYTHING in. almost Every app I downloaded to share to them, isn't coming in. They can't get their bible app, class dojo, or their rooster money allowance tracker app. All of the apps work from the main account, but when the content is shared, it won't come into the kids profiles.

I just bought 3 of these for my grandkids, and want to make sure my daughters will be able to share what they want to, and make the apps work from the kids' profiles. (My first guess was that perhaps the "age" profile of the kids wouldn't allow the apps you wanted to share -- like the Fire was saying "I can't share this app with this kid -- it's for 15 year olds and she's only 10!" Was it anything like that?)

@@timsawyer7443 nope. the program never worked properly for us. we gave up. it never made them complete educational goals before unlocking game material like it said it could, and it still doesn't limit video time as set in their profiles

+Joe Athis I will do another video on this soon, but the short quick answer is that is called “enabling Kindle Freetime.” And it can be done on any Kindle. When you enable “Freetime,” it gives it that kiddy look you see there. Thanks for asking!

Hello - we purchased the Kindle Fire for kids (version 7) and I have a question regarding the FreeTime content. I want to personally pull in the content she is allowed to watch - is there anyway to wipe out the thousands of options and only select a few?

I figured out how to wipe everything - but still feel like the adding and deleting content is really confusing. I would love a tutorial of how to add things and monitor.

Let me take this down and make another video for it. Nowadays when you purchase one from Amazon, it comes with the profile already in it. So, I have to see how to do it one that has been wiped.

@@n3rdch1c They don't always (at least a year later) come with a profile already loaded. Now there's a box to check on the product pages whether you want them linked to your Amazon account, but you need some other Alexa enabled device to pair it with to make setup easier. At least that's how I understood it when i read about it before ordering. That's why I'm here. Telling to figure out if I'm supposed to put my Amazon email and stuff in, them add them, or if I do it some other way. First time buying them anything but Android's 😱

You can download an app and then allow it on their screen. I believe there is one called “tuber” or something. Firefox works and gives KZread but I don’t like having search function. I wish they had youtube kids like apple
