    Awhile back I heard a bump in the night, grabbed a handgun, couldn’t find a flashlight, ran outside dropped my pistol. Determined that would never happen again I set up a home defense kit, ie a belt, very similar to what you’ve shown. I have extra mags, medical, flashlight, knife etc...all I have to do now is grab my rifle, strap on the belt and go to work.

    @Slight Overdoze Solid info...? If the guy actually used it while serving over many years... this is what worked for HIM. Even though it’s “his” setup.... and the way he likes to set it up... I would consider it solid info if the “info” is coming from someone who actually used it in his line of work for several years. And he gives his opinion on what to carry or not to carry... or where to carry.

Jeez it is irritating when fan bois comment. Are you going to run around your house with with a full ammo load, one days resupply, rifle and pistol ammo, and God knows what else. This is solid info for a person to evaluate, test, modify and then apply as they see fit.

    The transition from ballistic protection and kitchen sink rigs to gear more tailored to the particular needs of a mission or mission set has been really interesting to see. The idea that a tactical situation is basically a sport where the stakes are your life has been productive and driven by real needs from the GWOT ground boys, SOF and civilian shooters into a more "tactical athlete" mindset has been a really cool transition to see. Remember when no one had night vision and the Land CIRAS was the shit ?

    I’m set up like the second belt. I have 2 knifes, a radio, holster, 1 pistol mag pouch, 1 rifle mag pouch. I can do without the larger knife and likely will for an IFAK. If I could fit just one more thing, it would be a canteen pouch I think. General purpose setup.

    I tend to shy away from saying “do this” or “don’t do this” when explaining gear setups to shooters new to belt or chest setups. What I find most helpful is to explain different options, then show them WHAT I USE, HOW I USE IT, and then most importantly WHY I USE IT. Mission always dictates gear, and what works for one person wont work for another. Lastly, gear selection and placement is highly personal. What type or brand of belt and pouches one person uses will differ from the next. It’s why I like John Lovell and Garand Thumbs gear vids. They simply show you what they do, use, and why. At the end of the day I always urge the new shooter to learn multiple different perspectives on setup from pros and then TRY different setups or products to learn what works best for your specific mission’s needs. It’s all what works for the individual and allows them to run their gear at the highest level possible. Not bashing on the vid at all. Just a humble 2¢ regarding what I believe is most helpful to those new to battle belt/plate carrier/etc setups. 🙏🗽🇺🇸

    Great explanatory video. Thank you! Question: Is it possible to combine the third belt (the micro battle hybrid belt) with an H-harness? If not this one... are there variants which can? In my mind it would give me the ability to use the belt as the first two and with the added benefit of a thicker battle belt to wear an H-harness. Thank you in advance for your reply. Kind regards, Marten

  • @BigDaddyUnlimited

    Hello Marten! There are several belts on the market that offer the ability to use an H-Harness, probably the best known currently is the Condor Battle Belt as shown here: condoroutdoor.com/215-h-harness.html

    @@BigDaddyUnlimited Hi and thank you. That doesn’t answer my question though. I am looking for a belt not much wider than 2 inches... which allows a harness to be mounted. A micro battle hybrid belt combined with a harness. What you linked is a full blown battle belt.

  • @BigDaddyUnlimited

    @BigDaddyUnlimited

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@nirodha7028 You could probably use any commonly available 2" belt, and use belt keepers or some sort of hook to rig up an H-Harness system. We wouldn't recommend it, as H-Harness systems are typically oriented toward a much heavier belt loadout, which would be impractical with such a slim belt.

  • @nirodha7028

    @nirodha7028

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@BigDaddyUnlimited Yeah starting to come to terms with the idea of loosing the harness altogether. The 2” belts I am interested in are all 2 or 3 piece systems with a velcro ‘initial’ belt. This locks the belt firmly onto the waist location of the trousers and makes it impractical if not downright annoying to have shoulder straps trying to pull your crotch up when you crouch down or something. Thanks you 👍🏻

    Law Enforcement/security referring to a duty belt as a "war belt" or "battle belt"...lol. It's a duty belt. Actual combat arms requirements differ substantially. Most of this stuff would break in real world combat operations. Great for the range, great for competitions and short terms ops, horrible for longer term operations in rugged environments.
