I've dealt with plastic for over 30 years as an industrial designer. PLA still contains virgin polymer, it's not 100% safe to breathe in on a regular basis, especially for kids. I would move the setup to the garage and vent it out.

What does virgin polymer mean? From my understanding virgin is beads of plastic never used before. How's that more toxic than non virgin?

Pure PLA is made from corn kernels, but it's hard to use in 3d printing. So, filament manufacturers add additives to it to achieve desired stability and appearance. One of the additives is virgin polymer, which is a petrochemical plastic. Google PLA toxicity.

QR codes are an under rated tool! I tried gettting my company to use them years ago, but they shot it down.

I would like to suggest attaching these foam rubber strips to the sides of the panels where they meet. Of course, the panels will then have to be cut a little shorter.

Wow, that's great what you've done and the cool system you have created. I would recommend some air quality stuff I just vent my fumes outside.

"I accidently started a print farm". Haha. I'm trying to avoid that at the moment. lol. You have a nice setup there. Like the use of QR codes to order supplies and keep maintenance records. Don't think Travis does that. You got one up on him in that department. Thanks for showing your print farm beginnings (you know you'll add more 😁).

I have 5 Qidi printers all the same, for some reason 3 of them are printing parts .50 larger, I've checked the extruders and all are the same, exact same file and filament. I have 83 parts and most of them need to fit together like a dovetail joint but that has become a problem, the company wants me to slice each part for each machine and calibrate each machine in the xy, I started doing that and made it through 7 pieces and thought what is going to happen if I have 30 machines down the road? Can anyone help, or should I look at other printers?

  • @DoingWhatever

Are any of the belts loose or something, very strange error… I don’t know that machine at all. All I can say is that going from and Ender to a Bambu has been night and day difference! I’d definitely recommend a Bambu if you’re looking to switch.
