Setting Boundaries with Sara Kuburic | A Bit of Optimism with Simon Sinek: Episode 43

Despite all our “social” media, more and more people report feeling lonelier, more stressed and more adrift than ever before. How can we protect our mental health and still engage with friends on Instagram, etc? To find out, I called Sara Kuburic - an existential psychotherapist, war survivor, and the mind behind the massive and brilliant Instagram account @Millennial.Therapist. Her insights on self-love, trauma and authenticity reveal both a kind heart and profound wisdom.
This is… A Bit of Optimism.

Setting boundaries is one tool to create order in our world of chaos. The thought I got from your talk was that I are the only constant in my world. Understanding this made the self betrayal part you slightly talked about even more importend. If you are the only constant in your world and you betrayal that I than there is nothing left, nothing to measure right or wrong, good or bad, smart or stupid with. Welcome to your personal hell! Thank you Sara and Simon for sharing your thoughts on this platform.

The main problem with all those "social media " instead of connecting , they divide People and isolate them from reality of life . I understood this while I was using them and from my observation of others .

I always resonated a lot with Sara before I deleted my social media accounts. It's really cool to hear her TALK along with Simon since I got rid of Instagram... she is one of if not the best out there in her field of work/service of psycho therapy imo... great talk!

This is an amazing video. It would be an interesting experience to have her discernment in regard to the unique experiences of my own life. Both of you have an amazing perspective on reality. It is a relief to know others do have similar perspectives that allow some people to feel less crazy and okay with being misunderstood.

The difference between what millennials are dealing with now (social media psychological warfare) and our parents generation (actual war) feels like the difference between dealing with a covert Vs grandiose narcissist. It can be incredibly invalidating, beguiling and confusing.. and it’s STILL traumatizing

Another interesting episode. So much of a quality of life is about perspective and coping mechanisms.

Simon might be quit helpful (especially for millennials as I am considered a xennial) to find someone to express an optimistic view on the history of the. Introduction & indoctrination of sugar and how it's one of the most likely causes of the personality disorders leading to the necessity of boundaries... A body in stress organically is gonna change our behavioral output... 🤔
