Hi, I bought a monstera Thai constellation not to long ago ( about 1-2 weeks ago ) and I watered it once with rain water ( 0.8 cups/ 190-200 ml ) and it looks like it got some root rot but not servere ( I only looked at the bottom of the pot it was in ), is there any tipes on what I can do? It started giving me a yellow leave but I think its ,caused though stress of the environment change it was in? 😳

Just took a top cutting of the largest plant and repotted it alone in the hopes I can get mine looking like his. Thanks for letting me complain kthanks

Haha so true! The amount of people who give up their chaotic bedroom monsteras [or any other plant they managed to keep alive until it grew to look fugly] for adoption and the plant parents who just can't pass on rehabilitating those poor leaf babies. 😅 Just this week I adopted two enormous 60x80cm and 90x90cm "agave plants" [spoiler: they are aloes]. The bigger one is pristine with two flower spikes and has lived in a conservatory, the other one in a corner of the living room and all her leaves are pointing to one side. Looks like such a little 70s punk. Love it! Owner was a wealthy lady who just found them "too big" so she offered them for free to whoever would pick them up. She thought little punk should be binned though for being "broken". As someone with a visible disability I took that personally.💔 They barely fit into my hatchback, properly scratched up my arms, are heavy af and suffered a couple of broken leaves and bruises along the way, but they'll heal and happily live out their days in my garden and winter sun room instead of being cut up and binned.

FYI, a tip for a Thai Constellation. Although they are a monstera, they are actually crawlers! They crawl better than they grow on poles! ;) Also, P.S Thai con monsteras have genetic variagation so they won’t lose their variegation just like a Philodendron ring of fire

Can it be that there are two types of Monstera? My green one didn't want to climb, no matter what it got. I tried coco poles, moss poles, planks. It rooted straight through the moss pole and crawled around it. As soon as I tried to stack him up against the plank, the growth was stunted. And taking a cutting was impossible. The internodal space was tiny. That's why I believe that there are climbers and crawlers. The growth of both look completely different

I suspect I have more than one monstera plant in a pot. Now I’m thinking I should separate them into their own homes. I hate to disturb them again. They just started to look good. I have a moss pole. I didn’t realize monstera had a front and a back. Sigh.

Depends what your goals are i guess. If you want it growing lush and upright then a pole is a good shout. If you like the sprawling look then keeping more than one in the pot can work

Is it still ok to pot the aerial roots? I air layered mine and was going to cut in half but ive changed my mind! Also have you ever used silica to stop any yellow or white going brown?
