G-man shakes his head. W: "But, but if you go all-in, only Jacks or 5s will call you!" G-man: "Yeah, I didn't know that either. I wish I knew that. I didn't know that." W: "You think I have like... Hustler Live is a great show. 99% of the time every detail of the production is slick and modern. The director, however, made a mistake that made the epic set over set less dramatic. At the end when Wesley finally turned over his cards the director cut away from the perfect split screen shot to an attempt to show Wesley's holdings and then the board? Why in the world would you cut away from Garrett's reaction? Wesley took so long to call that Garrett surely thought he had the winner. What look of shock must have crossed his face! Please stay for reactions in the biggest pots!

    Ryan, I know you love Garrett, but comparing Wesley's "coaching" to Dillon's egregious slow roll is the overstatement of the century c'mon now. I think Wesley genuinely just can't help himself when it comes to wanting to discuss the hands. He's still a new player and in that honeymoon phase where he's head over heels in love with the game. Like a puppy with a new toy. Edit: To be fair, he does need to learn that it's bad etiquette. I wonder if he'd do it to anyone but Garrett, or if he just considers Garrett a close enough poker buddy to where he thinks it's okay. I wouldn't be surprised if Garrett would have explained to him that it's bad etiquette and considered needling if Wes was doing it to another player. Kind of like how he had to explain the concept of slow-rolling to that other guy (not Dylan) once.

Garret blocks the 2 pairs that Wes could have calling 2 raises with and rainbow board. Wes having a higher set or straight draw are only hands he is calling a 3bet flop raise. which a straight got there with 7 on turn. shoving all in there was zero value only to get hands calling that beat you a higher set or straight. Wes is very correct it was a clear overplay. Clear check back on river was correct play. I was surprised Wes didn't bet river but he got the MAX!!

  • @nathanrobinson1438

    @nathanrobinson1438

    2 жыл бұрын

    If you want to think about then you need to look at the whole picture, Garrett utg raises to $300, cut off just calls, btn raises to $1300, wes, just calls, and Garrett and since the cutoff is closing the action he comes along. In this situation, the only person who could have pocket jacks is the btn because he is the only one to raise. Because the cutoff did not raise, nor wes or Garrett. Because if they did they would have raised because playing pocket jacks before the flop 4 ways is asking for trouble. And the only person who could have 63 is the cut-off and it would have to be suited because he called $300 before he got to close the action when he is getting 4 to 1 on the action. I will have to say wes played this hand very weak on all 3 streets which contributed to getting the max. A player like Garrett will always exploit this and will apply max pressure. I think the re-raise on the flop is to apply pressure to see who has 63. Because wes is very capable of playing this type of hand (if you saw the whole vlog you can see he plays all types of hands). Once the straight is complete Garrett slows down. When wes checks on the river, I believe Garrett thinks wes has Ace Jack and wants to get to showdown cheaply. So Garrett wants to apply max pressure to get paid off. I will have to say Wes's game has evolved but you can see he can be exploited by seeing the whole vlog.

    The sickest part of that set over set hand was Eli just bet-folding top pair top kicker like it's nothing. WIth Wesley flatting the $3500 from Eli, Garret has a pretty wide squeeze range there. That's especially true when you consider the pre-flop action. Garret raised to $300 and Eli 3-bet. Eli is smart enough to know that on a J54 flop, Garret could be playing range and just abuse him all day. I just don't think Eli ever has a better hand to defend here. But maybe he knows that Garret knows he never has better than a 1 pair hand and is repping range with the nuts. I love this game.

    I think this is the first time that Garrett encountered a player checked/called the whole hand with that board with a flopped middle set. He couldn't believed that Wes put him on 44 or JJ after the flopped actions. And Wes knew Garrett would bet the river at the end.
