Set Design (On a Budget) 101
Фильм және анимация
One of the largest barriers to entry with Brickfilming is that in order to create grande, immersive detailed sets, you need to shell out quite a bit of cash that we may not have. So, how do we get the most of the spare bricks we do have?
Get literally any brick you want without having the extra 200$ set attached to it here:

I’ve also found that having an animated animal, like a rat in an alley, or swaying leaves of a tree also really helps bringing the set to life. I’m sure there are many animators out there that already know this, but it’s just something to keep in mind especially for those starting out.

Budget is everything.
I want a DX racer in The middle of the forest
"Your settings have to make sense." "I DON'T WANNA SEE YOU PEOPLE DOING ANY WEIRD STUFF! LIKE PUTTING A DX RACER IN THE MIDDLE OF A FOREST!" On the contrary, the setting only has to make sense within the world you establish. For instance; inception. Weird shit happens all the time in that film. Because it has to do with the connection between dreams and reality. Take this setting, and make it a brick film. A dxracer in the middle of the forrest, suddenly fits. Depends on the context my dude. :D Edit: i paused to comment this. Pretty much anything can indeed work anywhere. Provided the right context. xD
This is fantastic for more than just LEGO stuff, it helps a lot with scenebuilding in general. And honestly, these tutorial-type videos have actually helped me a lot with some of the stuff I do in Source Filmmaker. Absolutely incredible!

*Tip* : go to flea markets yard sales or look in social media to find huge boxes of lego for 5-100 bucks. I actually did this and my parts expanded and so did people that I can add in city shots. I d recommend this to anyone who doesn’t have much useful pieces like I did!
I’ve been here since the beginning of this channel and these videos have helped me in my brickfilms. Thanks Edbound:)
this video is very useful , and there isnt much like this. Perfect solution for buildings if a person cant or doesnt have many sets for an actual city
I keep this video in mind a lot and I notice these techniques when i rewatch your vids but it doesn't ruin them, it actually makes them better :)
Thanks edbound as a brick filmer I found this very helpful!!!
Thanks for showing me brick link, I’m always spending a lot of money on sets to just get the parts or mini figs now I can save so much more by using this

I love your channel and how helpfull you can be, it’s amazing to know you really care about your community. I have a lot of sets so I don’t worry about it but I really need to work on it because they get a little boring ya know? In my opinion a good set is the hardest part of BrickFilming

Next thing you know, you're explaining what a mood and attitude are.
you should make a starters animation. and with your skill it will be very epic!
Very useful
Something interesting i learned from another lego animator, is that you can use greenscreen to edit in more buildings, if you take pictures of the same building, at different angles. In the long run, he says it saved him quite the amount. But it does require a tad bit more, editing skills I'd say. I haven't watched the video yet so idk if you mention this at all, but i thought mentioning it in my comment would be neat. :D

This is actually something me and a couple friends are looking into, though instead of using real lego bricks we were thinking of rendering buildings using on of those 3D Lego building programs, and then incorporating that into backgrounds and stop motion shots. Hopefully we can figure out how to do it seamlessly and accessibly
